Always hard to come in after a club legend, then you add the rest like you said and it’s worse.

Think Lampard will do well here. Have been wrong before (Thought Pressley would get us from the Championship) but I think you have to back the manager regardless of whether you wanted him.

Course it’s not what I wanted but you know always next time

Lol Lampard might not be here the end of the season or he might be here for a good few years, he might fail but then again he might get us promoted! Who knows, but we got to back him and give him the time required, well depends on deadly Doug let Frank get the players in he wants and go from there

Or alternatively we have fans who have a real understanding and complete respect for what Robins did as one of our most successful managers of all time - he saved this club from L2 and complete despair and took it to a penalty shoot out from the Prem.

28-29K fans in our stadium - that's down to Robins.

For those who remember the dark days, a club without a home and free falling down the leagues in front of 6,000 that is out of this world and I never thought I would see it.

We move on but any fan who shows disrespect to Robins shouldn't be wearing the scarf.

Wonder if we will release Wilson then in the summer seeming as his contract is up.
Would rather keep him as a No.2 as opposed to Collins and from reading what Frank thinks about Wilson sounds like he would too but no point if we can shift Collins out permanently

He barely starts right now?

Lampard obviously wants to play 4231, where does that leave BTA? Arguably 4th choice at striker (behind Simms, Wright & Bassette). He's looked fairly awkward on the wings, would be 3rd choice on the left anyway and you'd hope we'll bring in a RW or Raphael steps up.

He's not particularly good at getting chances and not great at taking them when they come either.

Realistically if we can get near what we paid for him at any point you have to take it.
You still need squad depth and it’s only taken 2 injuries to Wright and EMC to necessitate a formation change.

At full strength, you’ll have a front 3 of EMC-Simms-Wright and you’ve only got 3 players on the bench for those spots; Bassette, BTA and Sakamoto.

A major flaw in signing 2 strikers in the summer window is that for Robins, he didn’t really know who to play and how. The result was basically a mish-mash of all the options and simultaneously unsettling the players and getting the best out of neither of them.

In specific relation to BTA, his problems are similar to Simms’ too. Neither player has been given a consistent run in the best position to have an impact. BTA isn’t going to be a top tier Championship striker but frankly, that wasn’t the intention in all likelihood. A strategy of starting Simms and bringing on BTA was sound in principle and an objective upgrade on Godden. Signing Bassette has meant that BTA has often been deployed as a RW/LW and that’s not his best position.

Wright isn't gonna play on the right. Don't see how he'd be effective without being able to cut in on his strong foot.

Our strongest front 3 right now is EMC - Wright - Sakamoto, assuming Wright plays well in the centre of a 3. If not, Wright - Simms - Saka.

BTA is just never gonna play centrally in that system. And he doesn't look like a winger. Selling him for £2m and spending it on a RW would be best for both us and him IMO.

Personally, I think EMC ends up on the right. Wright and EMC are just too too good to drop and Simms is just a better option than Sakamoto overall. I’ve consistently said that the logical end point of this team has got to be EMC-Simms-Wright as our front 3. It has by far the most firepower.

Right now, if Lampard had everyone available he probably does play Sakamoto-Wright-EMC. So you’re quite right to question where that leaves BTA. My concern is that we don’t want to selling players for a loss only one year into their contract, that’s too panicky and not a good way to conduct transfer business.

It took EMC a stretch of 4/5 games before many people had to U-turn on their opinions of him. BTA could provide a good bit of utility in the next 2-3 weeks and perceptions change.

Did you know it's OK to still have admiration for Robins for saving our club from oblivion yet give full backing for Lampard.

I hope we give him a good reception when we play Stoke. It's what he deserves. But once done Lampard is our manager and all the niceties are over.

There was an article yesterday that was posted on here saying Chelsea might loan a few more players to us then just Rak-Sakyi, I've just read on the Chelsea Chronicle that Lampard asked about loaning Tyrique George and Marc Guiu but they've said no to them two at the min as they want to see how the rest of the window pans out and what other players go out.

It's says, regarding Guiu, it depends on if they sign another striker (they want Liam Delap) then they might sanction his move.... @Saddlebrains @Jimmy87 have any of you heard anything?

Really odd the way some want BTA out. I suppose it must be because we have Simms and Bassette literally losing count if their goal tallies.

Wright, EMC and Simms may well be better players than Sakamoto overall, but none are anywhere near as effective on the right. Saka is by far the best option there.

EMC looked poor on the right and clearly favours the left. Wright also prefers cutting in onto his stronger foot, we don't want him getting down the line to cross we want him driving in field.

So it has to be either

Wright - Simms - Sakamoto
or
EMC - Wright - Sakamoto

With the latter being my preference, although we haven't seen it in action yet to judge.

He's probably on a high wage and there's huge question marks over what purpose he actually serves or what value he brings.

If we could get a buyer for him I'd certainly look to move him on and reinvest into more pressing areas.

Loan him out to L1 to fire in some goals or otherwise prove he isn’t up to par

Guiu and tyrique are exactly the type of loans we should be trying to get in, they are being used in Europe though for Chelsea so I doubt we’ve got any chance

Easily, both really good up and coming talents! Exciting for the summer if true and that’s when most of there best loans will be available so we have to make sure we get in early for the best ones

We would only look at a striker if strikers plural left

We have 1 squad space left as it stands and all loans no matter what age have to be registered as part of the 25 man squad.

Agree. Register Bassette correct, unregister 2 goalkeepers, and loan out BTA, get in Guiu and George.

That’s why tyrique and guiu or any players of that calibre would probably be best for the summer as we’d then have them for the season however, if we could bin off players like bta and other players who are poor then loaning in quality could give us a chance in the second half of the season

how likely is it that some fella on the internet has realised a player is registered incorrectly and no one at the club has, even when they are trying to juggle squad sizes?

still, keep making yourself look silly

So Lati goes, deregister two keepers and you’d have four spots right?

If do would take the winger if he can play on the right as well. But think we are full up outside of RW out of attackers and would need to focus on CM,CB and RB

I’ve asked you why we can’t register Bassette as an u21, when Sunderland and Watford have registered overseas u21 signings as u21

Put on the other chat but could it be because he’s one of our ESC players. Assume part of that would be proving you want to play the player as a first teamer?

Why are we unregistering 2 keepers?

Literally this season we had a period where both Wilson and Dovin were injured.
