I thought he ran the show today and looked a class above most on the pitch. He's a Cov lad and an absolute CCFC nut so if we're in any position to sign players this summer I'd go for him like a shot. I am biased as I'm good mates with Jamie's Dad who is also City daft and I know he'd be well chuffed if he ever came 'home'. I think he's possibly coming into the final year of his contract and if Walsall don't go up then, funds providing of course, why not?

We were linked with him early in the season, but apparently top flight scouts are watching him now.

Best player on the pitch. Will be in a different league than us next season. Literally.

He did look the part! Walsall are lucky to have him! Can see him going onto bigger and better things though; not CCFC unfortunately

Fair play for him not celebrating too!

I think he will go on to bigger things although I reckon we may have got him at the start of the season before he added goals to the promise he showed last season. Unfortunately another one that's slipped through the net although in fairness he was at United as a young kid...a fair play to him though he still remained sky blue through and through!

He trained with us when he was very young before being spotted by talent scouts from United...My mate has told me why he ended up at Walsall but I can't remember the reason.... I think they may have some sort of connection at youth level although I may be talking crap!

*edit* Just checked and Walsall are a feeder club for Man Ure and the arrangement works both ways with United trainees often going to Walsall if they're deemed surplus to requirements.

deano, the reason he's at walsall is our sadly depleted scouting system,
+ the obdurate attitude of a few who can't see further than the end of their nose,

and yet the hierarchy still trot out the agenda that we invest in youth,
the current list of players (ex-cov), is worrying,
selling off or moving on players maybe ok if they are close to their proverbial sell off date, but,
again, we know nowt of so many deals where promising players have departed,
all we get is the 'undisclosed' tag,
time to keep & nurture our youth system & not to dispose of when the first meek offer comes in,

Never been a feeder club as such but did have an agreement with Man U but that hasn't been the case for about 8 years now.

Patto is under contract for next season. If you want him it's gonna cost you a lot, particularly as there are much bigger fish with much bigger wallets hanging around our place at the moment.

He will never come to us. The set up and the players are not for him.

However if that changes and some of the current crop leave that may change things slightly.

In general though if he leaves Walsall it will be to go to a team in the league above or a big team in our league that's guaranteed to be around the top 2 next season.

Why would he drop a league?

In fairness I wouldn't be surpised if you do go up and deservedly so considering the run you've had and the limited resources available...I'd much rather them go up than Sheff Utd, Swindon or Doncaster.
