He had a good game again today in a match that was too franetic in midfield.

There was loads of effort from both sides, but the game needed someone with that extra bit of time on the ball.

Yes really impressive again today. Personally would keep him beyond his contract but I doubt we will.

He’s got another year after this if we want. I can’t see why we wouldn’t take it up based on what we’ve seen so far. Unless we actually try and sign some competent midfielders of course.

I thought our midfielder allowed us to go and win that game today , the workrate and endeavour by torp and allen topped off with grimes just pulling strings like hes sat on a Cello infront of bobby and Liam

One mistake against Leeds and we never saw him much after that.
Brilliant today, although like most of the team tired and was losing a bit of concentration near the end. From winning everything and first class distribution for most of the match, he slipped a bit near the end. Of course, it was all over by then.

Thought there were two or three Allens on the pitch at one point, he was absolutely everywhere. Brilliant today.

Man of the match for me.It is always mentioned that he is full of energy which is true. However I think that in a way this is a back handed compliment. It is a comment that disregards his footballing attributes.
He is a really good footballer, good first touch, good passing range and quick feet. I think he really adds to the team when he plays. Hopefully he gets a run now as he has played well almost every time he has appeared this season.

Allen in for Eccles was such a consequential change, the amount of distance he covers is so important and an upgrade on Eccles in terms of the tactics.

I’ve been guilty of writing him off and whilst I think we need ‘better’, he deserves his contract extension and has been so influential. He’s a consummate professional and deserves all the praise.

I would struggle to remember a game in the last 4-5 seasons when he's let us down . Always been hugely underrated by some of our fan base

I've always argued against selling him or moving him on . He is a very intelligent footballer and punches way above his stature

Thought some of the exchanges with Grimes proved this too....enabled him to push more forward without having to think about having to rush back

It's mad that how much he's underrated. Work rate, character & heart is undervalued.

It's him that's arguably turned our season around.

Eccles has been pony since lampard came in. He offers nothing, he’s the 7th best of our 6 players who play in the middle of the park.

I'm sure he has a terrible game recently? Got bullied alot. Must have been Leeds? Or maybe it was before the winning run started.

Not being negative it's just someone wrote he's never played poorly this season and I'm sure he has that's all

He was fucking quality today!

What a fucking stupid comment

It's no coincidence we are in our third consecutive season of success and Eccles is playing a big part in it

Ok if you want to be abusive.

Eccles match ratings since lampard has come in. He’s not had one game at a 7.00 or above. He is a bang bang average footballer in a team that based on league position is far above the average in the league. He is not good enough if we want to progress

Looooool at what point did I say Allen was irreplaceable you fucking gimp. I just said he offers more than Eccles. Would I start Allen over rudoni, sheaf, torp, grimes no I wouldn’t. I just said he should start over Eccles.
