His name is actually a tribute to the assassinated Swedish poltician Olof Palme

Looking at the match thread the Khmer Rouge have done more good than Jamie Allen

Allen was consistant again tonite, ran around non stop, tackled no one , did nothing apart from a three yard pass to Vik and yet people will still say he deserves a place in the team.

If Gyokeres had put away his chances, Jamie Allen would have two assists tonight.

It’s like going out with 10.5 men.

however, we shouldn’t go personal on him as it’s not his fault that he is being asked to play at at a level he isn’t good enough to play at unfortunately.

Palmer was poor too tonight, but this thread is about Allen. I can see the qualities he DOES have, but the downside is that is passing isn't great, his shooting isn't great either and he gets knocked off the ball too easily.

I do think we need to look at an upgrade.

And Palmer needs to be left to becoming an impact sub I think.

Sheaf and Hamer are fine at this level, but with O'Hare missing, I think we need to do better than Palmer and Allen.

I felt the control we had in the second half disappeared when Allen went off. Albion had much more of the ball and snuffed out the momentum we had built.
He didn’t have his best game, should have shot first time in the second half but still had an impact on the game in the way he harried the Albion players denying them space and time. As mentioned above, helped create our two best chances as well,

He's good with his movement and creating space for others for sure.

Yeah, Allen was fine tonight. Created both our best chances which Vik missed, worked hard and was tidy in possession.

He looked far better playing alongside O’Hare. Suppose that’s the type of player O’Hare is, he makes everyone look better.

Last night and for a while he’s been well below the standard, unfortunately. Likeable player but not good enough.

That says more about Palmer than it does about Allen.
Palmer had a poor game, Allen is just a poor player.

Watching Jamie Allen makes me want to rip my eyeballs out. Utter garbage.

A conference level player who has somehow found himself in a Championship side.

They were all poor last night but we’ve outgrown Allen as much as we’ve outgrown Kelly. If we have plans to be a top 6 team and eventually go up we need better players.

Yes, that's where we're at.
2 promotions followed by a lack of meaningful investment and a bottom 6 budget means our squad is paper thin and lacking quality and still carrying too many league 1 and 2 players. (And 5 kids on loan)

DK will need deeper pockets than SISU if he intends to build a top 6 squad.

On a plus note, MR has shown what he can do with minimal resources, hopefully he can do better with financial support.

yeah I’d say so.

Wilson & Moore
Dabo
Kane
Panzo
Allen
Kelly
Walker
Waghorn
Norton cuffy

There is straight off the bat. I struggle a bit with Wilson because he has 13 clean sheets which is the result of both good goalkeeping and defence but at times he’s a calamity.

Question mark over Godden now he’s getting on and injury prone

whole rebuild is needed.

Should have been McGuire instead of Godden to be honest to keep our midfield shape. Robins likes to keep trying Godden & Vik together despite that it doesn’t work

Godden is as bad as Allen but does not run about, lets face it if we are going to be a top team in this league we will need, to replace most players, only 7 of this squad are up to this standard

Our first team can compete, we need a stronger squad. So what we probably need us a Jamie Allen clone...

I was just looking at some stats and surprisingly Palmer actually has better defensive stats than Allen this season.

On a per 90 game basis he has more...

Attempted tackles
Tackles won
Blocks
Interceptions
Clearances

And of course Allen has played a few games at CM which should in theory have boosted those stats

I don’t know about that. G is pretty adept at deflecting anything out of harm’s way.

So I come on a match thread to find Jamie Allen being trashed yet again. Has he been sowing his seed far and wide?

I will repost the stats I put in the match thread.

22 passes (only Godden made less. This staggeringly low for a central midfielder)
0 key passes
0 tackles
1 interceptions
0 blocks
0 clearances
0 shots

He has had some good games this season but was a total passenger today. Those numbers are embarrassing for a central midfielder.

Posting some stats is not a witch hunt. Do you think those stats are acceptable?

Imagine the reaction if Palmer put up those numbers, now that would be a witch hunt.

Remember your witch hunt against Wilson?
