McAtee slammed for 'ruining' 10-year-old's birthday with Man City shirt snub

James McAtee was filmed leaving the City Football Academy on Wednesday night having watched Manchester City progress in the Champions League.

Manchester City forward James McAtee has been criticised for 'ruining' a child's birthday when he decided not to give away his shirt because he saw the youngster had a Sheffield Wednesday coat on.

The mum who is running to the media about it sounds like a right prick, Man City should ban her and her kids for life.

Why the fuck were they begging off Man City players and wearing a Sheff Weds coat?

To then run to the media about it just shows that the mum is just after stuff for free and probably wants a free game at the Etihad now. It "ruined his birthday". The kid didn't even fucking know who he was.

Tell her to get fucked and to wait for Sheff Weds players.

Mcatee was on loan at sheff utd too. Not surprised he didn't hand his shirt over to poor little 'Oaklan'.

"Who is it?" "Who knows."

Ruined his birthday.

In fact, ban the mum from Sheff Weds too.

I bet the poor kid is embarrassed by his mother running to the paper over this

Edit - actually she hasn't but nevertheless probably embarrassed by the fuss

Far to many of these shirts end up getting sold online.

I hate the signs in the ground as well it puts unfair pressure on the player, Ajax had the right idea banning them

I don't get why certain people think they're so special.

When there's 30/40/50,000+ people in the stadium why should you get to go home with one of the players shirts, of which there are only 30ish?

Parents who allow or even put their kids up to making these signs are just setting them up for disappointment in the 99% of cases that they don't get one.
