NEWS: Wiseman on loan to Nuneaton
Posted on: Tue 15 Nov 2011

COVENTRY City youngster Jamel Wiseman has joined Blue Square North side Nuneaton Town on short term loan for tonight's Birmingham Senior Cup clash with Sutton Coldfield.

The former Arsenal apprentice, who turned 17 yesterday, joined City's Academy set-up this season and has been part of the side that has risen to the top of their Premier Academy League group.

Wiseman though suffered a knee injury earlier this season and has been loaned to Nuneaton Town on a short-term basis to bring him back to match fitness and also bolster Nuneaton's side ahead of their cup tie.

Current first teamers Cyrus Christie and Nathan Cameron have also benefitted from short loan spells at the Triton Showers Community Stadium and Academy manager Gregor Rioch believes in will be the same for Wiseman.

Rioch said: "Jamel needs football after coming back from his injury so to spend some time at Nuneaton will be a great experience for him because he can experience men's football.

"We have had a good working relationship with Nuneaton in the past and it is something we have done before with our younger players so hopefully the loan can be mutually beneficial."

At 17 years of age, surely he is Jamal Wiseboy?

He's a central midfielder mate.

This may improve David Bell's contribution with more competition for midfield places.

On the other hand, now that SISU have given him a 4-year deal he may not give a sh1t.
