I dont think its entirely true though to say most seasons id have to see that for myself , a couple of recent seasons sure .. but i only had to go back to 22/23 to find 2 teams finished lower mid table
22/23:
1st Burnley (relegated 21/22 - a parachute club)
2nd Sheff Utd (relegated 20/21 - a parachute club)
3rd Luton (not a parachute club)
Top 3 66.67% parachute clubs.
33% seemingly didn't get promoted the first season they were relegated from the PL22/23:
1st Burnley (relegated 21/22 - a parachute club)
2nd Sheff Utd (relegated 20/21 - a parachute club)

Yes the argument I thought was about going straight back up. Seems to me the goalposts have been moved. So you basically give them 3 seasons to go back up , rather than the argument that they are going straight back up which they havent all been
21/22 - fulham 1st sheffield united 5th west brom 10th
20/21- 1st 2nd 6th
19/20 - 4th 5th 18th
18/19 - 4th 10th 16th
So you basically give them 3 seasons to go back up , rather than the argument that they are going straight back up which they havent all been
Ive shown clearly the immediate season after relagtion parachute clubs have not been dominating the divisions top spots .
So this season is not that different
21/22:
1st Fulham - relegated 20/21 (parachute club)
2nd Bournemouth - relegated 19/20 (parachute club)
3rd Huddersfield - relegated 18/19 (parachute club)
Top 3 100% parachute clubs
What are we doing here man?
He can't even see the goalposts anymore.Yes the argument I thought was about going straight back up. Seems to me the goalposts have been moved.
My argument is clear , parachute clubs are not being relegated and being promoted straight after every year . Making this season pretty normal
Ive not diverted from that
I would argue we’re only top of the table for now and because the parachute teams are all having bad seasons.
Ok fair enough , i guess over a 3 year period after relegation , promoted teams have recieved parachute paymentsOK well that’s not my argument so congrats I guess?
In case you all can’t work the page buttons on here to actually read what was said.

I bet you he did... according to him after the fact.Sure but im not entirely sure you meant all the teams relegated in the last 3 years .
Im pretty positive you didnt mean that
Stoke?Yes? That is how parachute payments work. The point all along is that money talks in this division and we’ve spent more than most who haven’t recently been PL teams and are receiving extra cash.

Why would I not mean that other than you decided I didn’t? I have been talking about finances all along. Just admit you thought you’d get on a bandwagon of morons and didn’t read properly.

Ok i didnt read it properly , i just assumed like the vast majority you were talking about leicester , ipswich and southampton
Stoke have more spend than us recentlyI mean what I say. If I meant relegated clubs I’d have said relegated clubs. I didn’t I said parachute club because that’s what I meant and I don’t know any other word for them.

Do you have the data from 2002 to show how many parachite clubs havent been promoted within 3 years so we can clear this argument up
No , im actually genuinely intriguedLuckily for you I really don’t fancy my current Jira ticket so I can get that for you. Give me a min, but are we really disputing whether money matters in football?

I wish our strikers couldHe can't even see the goalposts anymore.
I dont think we are doing well just because parachite clubs cant sorr their shit outThe other point is the statistical probability of getting promoted for these teams diminishes rapidly after season one and definitely season two. By then payments are used to cushion losses and mass player exodus. I don’t even think at this stage of the season many teams would have been on many more points than us or middlesborough
No , im actually genuinely intrigued
