You saying he’s worth £30m? Or you quoting someone else? I like Rudoni but no way is he worth £30m, yes he’s got a lot of potential but no team should be paying £30m for him, that’s a premier league sorta figure and he’s not proven to be at that level at all yet. I think somewhere around the £17-£20m would be fair tbh.

How much did Jobe Bellingham go for this summer?

Brentford sold Benrahma for £30m a few years back. Rudoni is a talented midfielder who is critical to our promotion bid and will be ready for the Prem in 1-2 seasons. Most importantly, has 3 years left on his current contract.

We should be unreasonable in our demands and if we sold him, it needs to kit the team out with 2-4 top end players to compensate.

I heard if you say Ronnie Pickering, 3 times in the mirror then a Citroen pulls up outside your house, the door will knock and if you say:

"who is it"

A voice will shout "RONNIE FUCKING PICKERING", he'll kick your door down and spark you out

But tbf to the Bellingham sale there’s a lot of prestige attached to his name so any transfer is going to warrant a higher price tag. I don’t believe he’s worth that, but because of the Bellingham name some clubs will pay it. If Rudoni had a world class brother then Jack would easily warrant a £30m price tag.

Though I know what you mean about how we’re in the driving seat when it comes to negotiations about Rudoni, however realistically if we get offered £20m for him it’s a great bit of business. It’d be hard to turn down that sort of offer considering how much profit we would have made on him. I’m not shitting on Rudoni, he’s probably our best player, but I think if a £20m+ offer came in for him I reckon it’d be hard for Doug to turn it down

We reached the FA cup semi and playoff final those runs alone are worth millions. I agree King is speculating knowing full well be have assests on our books that could balance the finances if we needed to.

20m just isn't enough these days for a young English player on a high trajectory. He is the key player on us having a very good chance of challenging at or near the top of the table. Many see him as the best player in the Championship.

If we get promoted and he continues from last season the start point would be double your 20m plus. A players value is what he means to his club and what someone is willing to pay. We're not in financial difficulties so no need to sell cheaply.

I can’t see Lampard being very happy if Rudoni goes now. It would be suicidal in terms of this season if we were to sell as I doubt we’d have time to replace him adequately and even if we did we’d be lumbered with another bedding in period for whoever his replacement is.

I agree he’s got a good trajectory, and I don’t for one second want to sell him, I just think that at around the £20m mark it becomes quite tempting for an owner to recoup funds and reinvest in 3-4 players. After all, that is the supposed model we’re going with, if we can find another Rudoni and do it again then that’s just good business.

I think timing, with regards to this window being close to shut, and finding the right replacement, are the only issues, if our recruitment think there’s another prospect like Rudoni out there then selling Rudoni for £20m+ seems decent. But there’s always the gamble of holding out for longer, hopefully getting in the prem and then suddenly Rudoni is worth a lot more like you said, then we’ve potentially doubled our money. It’s a tricky choice either way if a decent offer is put on the table.

The way I see it is Rudoni knows his best chance of continuing to improve at this rate is to continue to learn from the midfield master himself Lampard. Lampard wants to keep him. He won't go to another Championship side. He could go to a Prem side and sit on the bench at best or get loaned out.

Normally I would be worried but we don't seem to be short of cash. King's view is speculate to accumulate. If a massive bid comes in then yes it would of course be tempting. But 20m isn't a massive bid.

He might not be happy, but he's been in the game long enough to know that if a player gets offered an opportunity at a huge pay increase and top flight and Champions league football then its difficult to stop them taking it.

Fingers crossed he stays another season but if a serious bid comes in he'll almost certainly be gone.

Nobody would stand in his way, at the same time, we’d be well within our rights to demand top dollar. A club that’s filthy rich from head chopping cash and CL revenue can afford it.

Doug thankfully doesn’t roll over like Sisu did with transfer fees. So if he did leave I’d completely trust Doug to get top dollar. For what it’s worth I don’t think he’ll leave this season.

Newcastle have had a poor transfer window do far one player from Forest in but other players they have been interested in have chosen other clubs. So they will have to play the clubs valuation if they want Rudoni

Oh I would want top dollar, fairly sure there was a thread towards the end of last season where people were dismissing the figures me and others were calling for but I'd want 20-25 mil minimum.

I think hes better than Bellingham but people are right to say there's a premium that goes with his name, as ludicrous as that may be.

Rudi wouldn't be considered that young anymore though at 24. Bellendingham is 19 in comparison and playing at a "similar" level.

It wasn't a dig at Rushworth. Yes, he is very highly rated, but from the two games so far he doesn't look like an upgrade on Dovin, I would say they were on par with each other. Dovin cost around £1.5m, £5.5m for a keeper in the championship is silly money.

Not young in the modern sense ( which is now crazily low ) but young enough to still improve materially and sell on at a very good fee at the contract end when he will be approaching his peak … these are the things that determine price.

He will indeed but what a terrible body blow for our record amount of ST owners that would be. Clubs would immediately inflate their prices on players knowing we had big money and with 3 weeks left in the window what could we realistically achieve to replace him.

We can ask whatever we want for him but it doesn't mean anyone has to pay what we ask. We also can't ask for top dollar for our players then expect a bargain for Hulls best player.
It's all part of the transfer dance but luckily Doug has shown he has moves.

30 million is pocket change for a club like that.
