Steve Bruce is a cabbage.

A Villa fan threw one at him before last night's home match against Preston, and now the police are on the hunt for the culprit

Probably just some kids.

...... in fact, as it was a cabbage, it could be one of these.

“Baz what’s that in your bag!? Is it a cabbage!? What you gonna do with that!?”

“Just wait & see.....”

Obviously don’t do the Ricoh full body frisks at Villa Park then!

Or he just stuck it down his trousers and said he was suffering from acute elephantiasis.

The cabbage would’ve motivated the team a bit better.

It doesn't surprise me one bit. They play like a load of vegetables.

A supporter threw a cabbage at Aston Villa manager Steve Bruce last night just before their game with Preston kicked off.
When asked about the incident afterwards, Mr Bruce said, "It was quite useful actually, we brought him on in the 74th minute and he almost scored"

Would have been funny if they had scored and then had it disallowed because they mistakenly used the cabbage instead of the ball.

I guesss it could have been risky If it was a Canonball or walking stick
Not so much If It was a Savoy or Choy Sum

Dean Smith gone there with John Terry as assistant (seems like something forced by those above him?). Will be interesting to see how he does there and who Brentford look to replace him with

Smith is a good appointment, I'm not sure about Terry as assistant, could cause friction. Maybe he has the respect of the players already from last season though.

Be interesting to see how they go from here, Bruce clearly hadn't lost the dressing room so how will the players react to him being replaced?
Reminds me a bit of when Eddie Howe went from Bournemouth to Burnley, Smith clearly building something good at Brentford, the grass isn't always greener.
Believe his family are all Villa so cant blame him for taking it, Dad is/was a steward at VP I read

Even though he was Villa thru & thru I always thought he was a good sort (although a few of his ex managers might not agree).

I loved it when they opened the new Doug Ellis stand at Villa Park and he was there to unveil it. His mock surprise at the naming was brilliant.

Got a lot of stick from their support at times but they haven't had an owner since who has ran the club as well as he did.

Sometimes you don't realise what you have until it's gone.
Sounds like the new owners, although very wealthy, are a couple of chancers.

Very good appointment, as he is used to managing small clubs
