I have no enthusiasm for today's game at all. Not one jot.

I feel like an old, worn out boxer, on the ropes in the 12th round, dazed and spent and just waiting for the knock out blow.

Can't believe we are back here again fearing our future, so soon after returning home.

Wonder if the off field stuff will affect the on field stuff today. Get the feeling the crowd is going to be very flat and it's hard to get at all excited. Not even as if the team have been cheering us up of late is it!

Maybe a good peformance and a win might cheer us up a bit.

Nearly at Oxford, left at 7am, I do have a bit of match day excitement. But that will probably be gone at 3.01

I offered my next door neighbour my ticket, a champagne weekend in Paris, £100 spending money, a packet of sunflower seeds and the use of my wife for the next 5 weekends, but he still wasn't interested.

Completely agree Otis.

Feeling throughly depressed about the whole thing.

Perspective guys - it's raining, City are playing Crawley - but although we are all worried about our club, it/we will still be about in the next year or two moaning about a full back called O'Regan or a donkey of a centre forward called Smithers. Get a grip !!!!!

Yes, we know it is perspective, but we go to the football to get away from all this crap going on in the world.

It's our own little time capsule where we can just concentrate on the football and nothing else.

Have had deaths in the family where it's all I have been able to think about 24-7. Going to the football gives you that little bit of respite and just helps you focus your thoughts elsewhere for a couple of hours.

Unless of course you want us to go to the game and spend the 90 mins worrying about mortgages and debt and poverty and hunger and innocent people being beheaded for no reason?

And this is a football forum at the end of the day. Think we do have things very much in perspective, but football is an island unto itself.

Each to their own, of course, but I'm always excited on a match day. My lad is already saying "how many minutes before we go?".

I'm sure he will accompany you to make sure you are able to get there in time to relieve yourself. unless of course you would prefer to wear some sort of bag about your person?

I'm always excited too, Torch, but all this franchising and takeover and buyout talk and Ranson nonsense and the concern once agian over our future, just weighs you down and with it also all coming so closely after all the positivity and euphoria we enjoyed, just makes it feel so much worse.

To be honest, the positivity of our return burst like a balloon when only 11K turned up to the next match. "Business as usual".

Agree that all the Wasps and Ranson nonsense is something else we don't need, but as I've been banging on about for years, we don't own our own ground and that's alwayys a danger It's why I've always disagreed with the "we don't need to own our ground" point of view. If Wasps do take over then personally, I hope Fisher and Seppala indeed do have plans for a new stadium for COVENTRY CITY and no one else.

Anyway, still looking forward to the game. Particularly hoping that Conor Thomas is still out.

Fair enough Otis - on reflection, I think I probably overreacted - just thought everybody felt a bit flat and down today. Should probably have gone down the 'Swanson is injured route to lift everybody, rather than drag the world's ills into it. Apologies all - off with tail between legs ointlaugh:

On the bright side, at least the rain will have stopped by kick off, and I think Nouble will be back. Won't be there today but hope we get a win and the team put on a show for those who are.

The depressing thought though would be of Wasps taking over, us just paying rent forever and playing in a yellow and black seated stadium.

Can't see that happening though. Think if we stay on a rent deal, all the CCFC stuff will remain in place.

As for the game, i'm hoping Thomas is back myself. Don't particularly rate him much, but think we look a more solid side with him in and anyway, who do we repace him with? Daniels?

I would like to see Finch play to be honest, but not so sure Pressley will throw him in there for today. Think if Thomas is fit he'll be in.

We need an early couple of goals to excite the crowd and give city a bit of confidence. Think we are lacking being positive with the ball.

Don't get everyone's negativity? I had a year where I hardly saw my team, We're only 4 games back at the Ricoh and people are saying theyre not looking forward to it? I'm looking forward to it and think we'll win today.

4 weeks ago we returned we knew it would not be all easy going but there was hope, despite not knowing the finer details this sale to wasps could condemn us to the lower leagues.

Perhaps he is worried that five forays with your missus would result in an irretrievable breakdown in your marriage.
