and you know why that was? We were the underdogs and had that underdog mentality both on and off the pitch

now we are the favourites for most games so that mentality is completely different on and off the pitch

Luton, Sheffield United and Stoke alone will have higher wage spending. Cardiff won't be far off.

Yeah and the expectations were low.

It would have been an absolute joy to play under as a player.

Unlike yesterday where they were scared to play a pass because of the moans, groans and boos.

It's a real shame. We need to lower the expectations and get behind them.

these players are on 15-20 k a week they get paid to play under those expectations

the old guard were on far less but showed far more

they need to work to get the support sometimes. hard to generate atmosphere watching rubbish football

They did but also added a lot of new players this summer. We won't be miles ahead of them.

Yes, it is the expectation/hope. I think we should make top 6. However there is 9 months between now and then and we have no idea what will happen in the interim So if we don’t make top 6, for me it’s not “total failure”.

I still think we will make top 6. We have this dummy spitting every year because we start slow. We looked poor yesterday, but it’s so so early and the wolves are already out.

The thing that really pisses me off, is that IF we do make top 6, clowns like Grendal and GIMOC won’t praise King/Robins, they will say “well it was expected”. They’re on a hiding to nothing.

1st half we were pretty sound , we played poorly second half .

It's typical early season stuff for many teams .. consistency

So you agree that statistically he is top 3 in the world then currently? You must be on the same drugs then! He was clever, but he’s also clearly far far better than anything we’ve had and will have for a very long time.

Why is everybody talking aswell Like midfield was the problem yesterday ???

The keeper kicked a perfectly good ball to haji wright who moved over instead of getting his body infront of the defender to hold it up and lost the duel , they scored from this move .

Terrible header out too by binks into a dangerous zone .

just like Stoke, just like Bristol and yesterday. Norwich players had an easy time in the middle

they were in dangerous positions after 3 or 4 passes where it takes us 15 passes into leave our half

our build up play is pedestrian, slow and lethargic

that stems from the midfield

Our problems second half were not just because of the midfield , even if sheaf was there that midfield gets ran through yesterday .

Players like wright not closing gaps , rudoni jogging back into position when bypassed , bidwell and MVE too narrow , Simms offering no defensive work , sloppy passes surrendering the ball .

So many more issues than just midfield 2nd half .

1st half we were a totally different team

Agree, it wasn’t our best game. That’s football though isn’t it? I’m sure we’ve all been following us for long enough to appreciate it’s never straightforward and can never be as a marketeer would have you believe.

no but I’m not seeing too much ‘blind optimism’.

some of the negative stuff is well over the top, but something feels off this season so far, not like the last seasons.

It’s been poor but I’m talking about people throwing our stats to suit their position/negative agenda

We’ve also had Saddle saying Eccles was ranting at the bench and wanted to be subbed off yesterday and GIMOC saying sheafs out for six weeks (when hopefully he’ll miss one game) over the past two days.

I’m as frustrated as the next fan, especially after the second half yesterday, but this sites just becoming toxic.

Especially if they have some kind of bizarre grudge against King, and will grab onto anything to have a swipe at anyone at the club & try to spread discontent for anything.

the start of the season has been poor, very poor apart from one half v Oxford, but the way you go way, way over the top & go on the attack about everything is stupid.

I actually agree with @GIMOC tbf, last season we had the excuse of gelling, this season we just seem to be all over the place. There’s no clear play style, we’re easy to defend against, weak when we’re pressed, wasteful with chances, maybe I’m being a bit harsh seeing as it’s only 4 games into the season but I really don’t like what I’ve seen so far.

Was brilliant for the Live and Die and after Hajis goal.

Doesn't come close to the constant backing and noise in 2021/22. I'm not convinced we'll ever get back to that level.

We are in the best shape we have been in on and off the pitch for at least 20 years.

if you honestly can’t enjoy it now, if you can’t see what the rest of us see, then either don’t go because you will never derive pleasure from this hobby or do go but seek some help for your mental health (im not joking )

The time to feel despair was when we were dropping through the leagues and heading for non league with owners who didn’t care.

The same arguments have been had the same time of year for the past two seasons and things haven't ended up too bad in the end

I would say I can't believe the meltdown after four games, but I can

not being negative its called being a realist

look at facts over the last 12 months we have regressed as a team

fa cup run paper over the cracks

our form since April has been shocking as have the performances

Fans have put the effort in. Another big crowd yesterday and performance was shocking

all the season tickets sold and lack of transfer activity will soon have a negative effort if the team continue to play poor

that might sound negative but it’s true and if you don’t believe it then you are delusional

The meltdown is predictable. Many can’t understand why we can’t simply win every game and sign whoever we want. We’ve had a disappointing loss v Stoke, a good home win, a very good point at Bristol and a below par performance yesterday. The games we’ve lost have been 1-0. You constantly need to remind yourself of that in amongst the drivel.
