People do understand this I hope! We will still have landlords and we will still have rent it's just that it will be going to SISU and not ACL. I keep reading people say "it might be better for CCFC to own it's own stadium" that really worries me that they are being drawn in by the current bullshit TF is spreading!

Ha! So SISU doesn't object to the model, it's simply jealous of Arena Coventry. BTW, would prefer to be addressed as 'Lord' going forward.

And as I've said on other threads. The same would be true whoever owned us. Is PH4 was the owner then it would be his stadium, not ours. The clue is in what he does. Same with the Byng bid, the Ricoh would be an asset.

It's the way SISU works.
When they bought us they effectively took on all the debts (at a percentage of the real value) as well which is why TF initially said there are no debts.
When we went into administration these debts have come back and mysteriously ended up in the non trading company.
It's a fiddle.
The stadium will be owned by SISU and if we ever get rid of them they would be the new landlords along with the real estate around it.
Thinks .......... A bit like ACL.

It would be another obstacle long term to any potential new owner, although short term I imagine that some, more of the same, creative accounting through SISU sponsoring something or other would mean revenue for the club which then uses a small part of it (£100/month just to cover legal purposes/principle) & the rest in the squad.

Dear Lord
It's obvious that to build a new stadium they need investment from others, these groups will want there money back with interest, they will not just give the stadium to us, they will probably have no choice but to charge us rent.

How many football clubs OWN their stadium ? I would guess....NONE. Fans at Chelsea own the pitch, i believe Abramovic owns the buildings, wants and has tried and probably still is to move and sell the very valuable Stamford Bridge or re-develop it into real estate, do they get reward from tea and biscuits and merchandise, probably yes but at the Russians say so, bet the Glazers own Old Trafford, Learner Villa Park and so on down the divisions. It is called business and at every business someone will be calling the shots and i very much doubt if all the money if any made at the various grounds up and down the country goes to the team, which essentially is what most supporters would prefer.

Who owned Highfield Road ? Derrick Robins built three of the stands his company Banbury Buildings went on to build a number of stands around the country, who do you think had that profit and good luck to whoever did.So lets get real about the ownership of the Ricoh Arena, there may well be a different name on the door one day but any profits will go into the pockets of the business man or men or woman.
Now there has been a shift lately and various Trust groups have moved in and own parts and maybe all of their grounds so perhaps in their cases things will change, but that will be a slow process i believe.

Need to clear this up I think.

TF was asked, "who will own the new stadium, ccfc, Sisu, or another 3rd party?" Fisher then pretended he didn't understand the question, eventually answering"we haven't worked out what the company structure would be yet".

He didn't directly say sisu would own it, but it was clear it wouldn't be ccfc.

There will be no clarity with this lot. At least we know that the council have a golden share in the Ricoh & can stop any deal detrimental to the city going through & make sure there is a level of trust in any new owners of that asset... if SISU end up owners they will use it to milk the club to avoid making a loss on their investment so far, if that happens then the club will be held back by far more than the £1M annual rent.. far more.

Keeping SISU means you vote for a division 3 or division 4 club for the next 20 years.

When asked last night fish puppet started on about sponsorship of the stands trying to change the subject, when the question asker pushed and told him to stop swimming round the question he then started on about the subject not coming up yet. Perhaps the question should have been is it ccfch or sbs&l bidding for the land, if not who is?

The thing he openly Admits is it is to build Value into the club ,then mascarades on the point of every pound will be the clubs dedadeda.The reality is they have made us worthless. Remember Deluded ,we need to put some Value into the books,David Bell 4 yr contract etc ,oh yeah what happened then ? Relegation.

just to clarify my original post I have no issue with the club not owning the stadium and paying an acceptable level of costs for using that facility. I am just reading too many posts where fans are saying we will be better off owning are own stadium rather than staying at the ricoh and that simply won't be the case!

This is dead right, unless a future owner is a benevolent billionaire CCFC fan that donates a stadium to the football club ltd., the asset of the land, bricks and mortar of the stadium will never be owned by the football club but by owner/developers such as SISU/PH4/Byng.

For me this means that the solution that has the potential to offer the football club greatest stability is one that involves CCFC staying at the Ricoh with the Council retaining a share in ownership of the land, bricks and mortar, and crucially also retaining a veto on the future sale or redevelopment of the site, so that it cannot at some future stage be sold off by a CCFC owner/developer for redevelopment such as retail or housing.

Of course for the football club to have the best chance of financial stability and future success, the football club would need to also benefit from a long lease and the operation/management of the entire complex (perhaps with specialist partner companies - not ACL or any company in which the Council has a stake). It would be absolutely essential that the football club (not holding/owner/development companies) should purchase and hold the rights to all the revenues that the entire complex generates.
