Exactly, the opportunity was there to hit back and reclaim top spot which is what happened. Boro had to play ourselves and Ipswich away so I still believe that they won’t go up automatically.Even after ‘Boro went above us, at that exact point it was still exclusively in our hands to win the league because we had them to play the following Monday.
To post a thread like this when that was the case looked premature, with then what has happened in the two games since (for us and other teams) it looks plain silly and attention grabbing.
Put 5live on the radio. He'll soon annoy you.....Haven’t heard Sutton mentioned for ages…
It's ok . You can say dumb shit and then use the "emotion of a football fan" cardHaven’t heard Sutton mentioned for ages…

Give me some credit. I'm not just saying this stuff after am I? It's what I said at the timeIts all well and good when people can play Captain Hindsight isnt it?
We blew a 13 point lead and dropped to 2nd. We hadnt won away for almost 3 months. Let's not have any revisionism here
I dont think any of us suddenly winning 4 on the spin off the back of that. Long may it continue
You did tbf. The thing is this run was always possible. We've proved it before.Give me some credit. I'm not just saying this stuff after am I? It's what I said at the time
only madmenDoes it?
I think it was 90% the view of fans that we had totally shit the bed.

I'll feel that more as and when we cross 80 points. My reasoning being nobody's going up automatically on 70-odd points, but when you're in the 80s that changes.Dont think we need to worry about this now tbh
Couldn’t have put it better myself. Anyone with integrity would go “hold my hands up, what a silly sausage I was” and we’re done with it. Colour me shocked there’s a defense of it stillLook, it’s not that deep.
You made a petulant post in an irrational fit of anger.
Then spent time questioning people who thought maybe this was a bit premature and over the top.
You are not the first to do all this and won’t be the last.
Just take your medicine and admit it was a a silly post to make.

Hard to say before Ipswich play their games in hand.I think we could win 5 more and go up with a couple draws
I originally thought 85/6 but feeling 88
If boro lose monday ( fingers crossed )Hard to say before Ipswich play their games in hand.
W5 D2 L4 of the remaining games seems doableIf boro lose monday ( fingers crossed )
If we got 17 points from 33 theyd need to get 25 from 33 to match us
Millwall 26 from 33
Ipswich win both games in hand theyd need 22 points from 33
Weve only lost 6 in 35 so youd hope so mateW5 D2 L4 of the remaining games seems doable
I think its safe to say this is wrong , its safe to say the lampard negativity was wrong .. its safe to say the doubters were wrong .
It will be a good time about now to come together and enjoy whats about to happen , weve all said things that are wrong .

Dont let sense like that get in the way of hindsight points

Its not hindsight though. There were some posters amidst the mass bed wetting hysteria on here that were offering a more balanced view of the situation we were in. We all know that you don't have any nuances in your views and that you overreact when things go a little awry, but others didn't need to pile on with so much bile.
The Middlesbrough game was the clear turning point though, where the fans were together and really up for it, and which undoubtedly helped inspire the players on the night. Next season if/ when we are in the PL we should bottle that and learn from the experience of December/ January, and not turn on the players or provide a negative atmosphere at the ground when we inevitably hit poor periods of form.
Performances like last night, where we were about 5 steps above them fitness wise + the addition of Onyeka really show how much the illness took it out of us.The reality is, we ran out of steam a bit and had our 'blip'. I'd imagine the illness in the camp contributed to some of the poor results too. The Jan window allowed us to refresh and go again. God knows how clear we'd be if we had Onyeka and our extra wingers all season.
*Many of us said things
Bereft is a tremendous word mate well playedI didnt spout bile
I was pissed off we let a 13 point lead slip within 5 weeks and looked bereft of confidence and how to turn things round. Let's not rewrite history here, its a fact
Its all champagne and blowjobs now and long may it continue, but I stand by the post when I made the thread
