There's a decent chance of us being 12 points ahead of 3rd after this weeks midweek games with only 12 games to go. Most of the sides 3rd to 9th are playing each other. 3rd v 7th, 9th v 4th and 5th v 8th. But even if it happens I'm sure there will be some negativity somewhere.
Even after ‘Boro went above us, at that exact point it was still exclusively in our hands to win the league because we had them to play the following Monday.
To post a thread like this when that was the case looked premature, with then what has happened in the two games since (for us and other teams) it looks plain silly and attention grabbing.
Exactly, the opportunity was there to hit back and reclaim top spot which is what happened. Boro had to play ourselves and Ipswich away so I still believe that they won’t go up automatically.
Our problems were exclusively away and at home it was v much business as usual and maintaining a 2.4 ppg. I was never really worried about the Boro game.
Hand on heart, I was more worried about the WBA because our record is terrible at the Hawthorns and it’d been close to 3 months without an away win. I’d have been seriously worried had we not beat WBA yesterday - they were shit.
