Funny how people say we could never get full houses, what about all these glory hunters that are mentioned every other day on here, wouldnt they want to come along if we were successful or is that just another myth.

Yes. I was twelve sat behind the goal at the covered end that became the West End. We kept running on after our goals, and at the end of the game. What a day that was 51,000 inside and it was said 20,000 outside.

I was at the Spion Kop end. Sat on the edge of the pitch by the old white wall!

Just spoke to Tim Fisher and he is going to ban everybody with the retrospective action unless they turn up in the same outfit they had on then and with the same hairline.

I was barely a twinge in my dad's y-fronts on this day, but I can truly say, we'll never see a day like this for a while.

As for Villa's 'bostin' crowd, couldn't care less - nothing to do with bitterness, I just cannot give a solitary turd about anything but CCFC.

Aren't average crowds (and the city's population) bigger now? (Genuine question I thought they were)

27k is easily achievable with owners who have a desire for success and the means and ability to get us to the premier league

They are indeed.

If we had a bit of success and got into the Premier we would easily get 25,000+ for Man U, Man City, Chelsea, Villa if they get back there, Arsenal, Liverpool and Spurs. West Brom too perhaps.

As has been said eleventy billion times, we have had almost 20 years of a never-ending downward spiral with nothing at all to celebrate.

Easy to dismiss attendances based on that, but we have to consider what they would be with a successful, higher profile Coventry City FC on the field.

My mistake. I still don't think we'd get over 40K. We couldn't anyway if we stayed at the Ricoh and certainly won't if we move. I reckon Wasps and other distractions have scuppered any chance of big crowds on a regular basis.

Yep. Its all Wasps fault.
Stopped us buying into ACL.
If they had not come here CCC would have given us the stadium by now.

True, but they would probably have given it to new owners. New owners who would be attracted to a team with a stadium available. Not now. Still, it's not all bad. You can see Top Class Rugby. Nothing else matters.

Firstly Sisu would have been the ones obtaining the stadium off CCC.
Secondly do you really think the stadium should be given to the owners of CCFC ?

Yes, I would rather SISU had it than Wasps. The chances of getting a new owner would dramatically increase. And not "given" but maybe offered the same deal as the out of town club were. Talking of which, what was the first thing Wasps did on getting the stadium? Do remind me.

The football club should most certainly have been given it over a London rugby club.

Big cup games only. Man U in the quarter final of the cup and I reckon you could get 40,000.

Biggest crowd in 5 yrs? Why didn't they get the biggest crowd in years when they were in the Premiership years then?! Voting with their feet against Lerner???

Exactly the same as us then. Cheers Bob.
