We'd never get 42k for a league game even if our ground was big enough. Not auew what the point is, Villa are a vastly bigger side then us, on a good run playing a side who'll likely not play in front of a big crowd like that for a long time and I believe they sold out their allocation. And it was a boxing day game which are crowds are always higher.

We know things are shit, we know sisu are cunts I don't get the comparison with a vastly superior support club is.

It's just one of Bob's threads so there is rarely a point to them.

To be fair didn't we buy Lee Hughes for 5 Million, and Keith O'Neil for £3 Million, among others with the comment "we're Division 1 on tour" - back then despite selling Bellamy hadji and Hartson that was big money back in 01 - we didn't get close to 20k even when we were top. So I don't think ambition comes into with us - we've been toxic since the announcement of the Ricoh being built

Yes. I was twelve sat behind the goal at the covered end that became the West End. We kept running on after our goals, and at the end of the game. What a day that was 51,000 inside and it was said 20,000 outside.

I remember being in several plus 40k crowds at Highfield Road. Too many people quick to write off the potential that this club has.

I don't think people write off our potential but I doubt we would ever get crowds that size now. There are just too many distractions. In those days what else was there to do?

Gates for some clubs are actually bigger now than they were in the 60s and 70s, Man Utd for one. This club has had so little success over 49 years that it has really only been a hard core who attend. A bit of success and some big games and the Ricoh would sell out with more wanting tickets. We are no different to Leicester in terms of potential fan base and they were talking about extending their stadium from the current 32k.

I think we could fill the Ricoh regularly if we were in the top division and doing okay.

Premier league and the Ricoh would be full all season. For a year or two.

What were the gates at the Ricoh for the first season? Sure it was 20,000 plus?

This.

Villa are a bigger club, but Leicester City are squarely a comparable club in terms of attendances according to league, position, momentum and footballing era. Undoubtedly, we would have been getting full houses at the Ricoh with similar form. That would require a good footballing structure, 100M, and willingness to flout the fair financial play rules.

Look at Burnley - hard pressed to get 20K in a stadium, whereas we find a bit of form in L1 and we get 16K+

Our fanbase isn't the best, but it's there enough for whoever want's to get us of this shitsu.

Said this last season spend a few bob in January and the decent teams would drag 15-25k fans in the Championship. But no the twats that own us sell Maddison and dont give TM jack shit.
At the end of the season a good friend of mine went to a fans forum come bullshit meeting with TM and all the directors and all the crap was about motivating players. (Fooking a bit late). This friend spends a lot of money on advertising etc and he stood up and said fook motivating players what about the fans who have no future in this club and if you spent £2M you would get it back 3 fold. TM interrupted and told my friend in front of everyone all he asked for was £400k to do it.
All the shady fookers from TF etc just looked away.
