All the more reason they would liquidate CCFC

When SISU eventually give up they would have to be real bastards to not allow someone to take it on.
If they liquidate they get nothing and walk away with the debt.
If they give it away they get nothing and walk away with the debt, but the club still exists.
Your call SISU you incompetent bastards.

Joe elliot for all his faults is still a massive city fan, the same can't be said of joy and tim.

Maybe you should bear that in mind before you belittle the man.

surely the debt is with CCFC not SISU? so liquidating wipes the debt away?

Never who would go to that shit white Elephant in the Holbrooks area of Coventry just doesn't make any sense?

Mind you Gren and his mates will be happy when it is bulldozed so they can yet again blame the council for taking away our home...

I'd rather bear in mind his utter inept failures while on the board of CCFC, and his contribution to where we are now.

Not true. They'd get the value of Ryton, the value of players, and the value of anything else able to be sold.

So your starting price to buy it off them has to be above all that combined.

I'd take liquidation now if it meant the end of sisu's awful stewardship.

There will always be a ccfc, dont let the scaremongering on here worry you.

With our fanbase we'd soon climb the football pyramid.

So easy blaming a City fan rather then the charlatans that mislead us and him?

Not really.

Easy to blame someone who has shown themselves incompetent in running the club, however.

If he's that easily misled, even when people were saying DON'T DO IT, then he's obviously too lacking in judgement and competence to deserve a third (fourth?) bite at picking the right horse.

He's made mistakes,who hasn't?

Maybe you should be channeling your anger towards the current owners and board.

Playing in Northampton with a £45 million debt is all joes doing i suppose.

Exactly can take our club away change the town we play in, change the badge and the name but can't change our history that is ours to take to wherever we see fit.
So let them liquidate we will rise again bigger and stronger Coventry til I die.

I can multi-task and channel my anger towards all who don't deserve to set foot in the CCFC boardroom ever again.

Turkeys may not make eagles, but I don't fancy them voting for Christmas either.

It would be yes, but we're never going to get anywhere under sisu and that huge debt.

Id honestly rather start again. It wouldn't bother me at all being called afc Coventry or such like

I do see your point. But I truly believe we are not in as much debt as SISU say we are. I may be very wrong, but I think SISU are piling their own debts on CCFC IMO

To be fair the context was "without the prospect of being able to buy 50% of ACL they would have considered liquidating or not funding the club".

It kind of makes sense, why would any right minded investor or owner want to keep funding a loss making business to the tune of £5-7m per annum, when it has limited access to revenue.

Why do they not have access to revenue? Oh hang on--because the Club sold it for £5 or £6m. Do you think it would be fair to give it back for free?

Yes that's exactly what I said/suggested isn't it......

Exactly.

Ive a friend who's been a Wimbledon fan all his life. Afc Wimbledon to him are the old Wimbledon that he originally supported before the franchise.

He says supporting afc feels exactly as it did years ago under the old name.

If this charade continues for another couple of seasons then we may have to find out for ourselves.

Absolutely. Another season at sixfields will kill the support.

Ive never been there and i never will, but even the minority that choose to go must be feeling slightly deflated at what is looking like another season there.

The only way they should get the ricoh for cheap is to give it to CCFC the football club and not the owners
Therefore the owners little profit from the Ricoh and the club becomes a more stable business. then when they sell it on the Club is a viable business without them.

Have a caveat that states this is the home of CCFC all profits to go towards the football team and upkeep of the Ricoh the owners should only be allowed to have a 10% share in any profits, that way the better the job they do the more return they get, and if there is a loss they should make this up without putting debt into the club.

I went to the hill yesterday for the first time, and even though it was a good pre match and there are some great people on the hill, it was a horrible experience to actually see CCFC there

The only way to do that would be to do a deal like Stanford Bridge where supporters own it and lease it to the club.

Wycombe's trust were trying to do similar when they were selling their ownership of the club itself...

Still don't quite see why something like the (Northampton) model isn't valid anyway.

What is the Northampton model?

You mean a lease and access to revenue?

I don't see why not.

Yup.I've said it often enough

But they in effect 'own' the ground with a nice long lease, they get the peppercorn rent, but the freehold's owned by the council to ensure a football ground, one day, doesn't suddenly stop being a football ground.

A small but significant check that ensures a spot of balance.

That's all I want. To take Sisu on trust with the future of the stadium is too much for me.

Frankly, I'd hand them a long lease on nothing and 100% of all football revenue or revenue from the bowl. They can rent other land nearby if they want to build other facilities. I'm not sure there's any real benefit to having the academy and training ground there, but a supporters bar wouldn't go amiss.

Yup, any land outside the stadium can either be bought by them if they want, or be bought by somebody else if they want.

We should be focussing, really, on a football stadium for a football club. Everything outside of that can take care of itself.
