That would have got us a crowd of over 20,000. Leeds are on a tremendous run and would have brought 6,000 at the very least. I just wonder what the receipts from such a fixture might have brought in.
You've got to speculate to accumulate .....though not in our case.

£100,000 - £150,000 maybe. Prize money for round 2 winners was £27,000. Not insignificant amounts but a fraction of the sort of cash needed to really make a difference on the pitch.

I wonder who we would've had in Europe in 1987/88?

Not bothered about Leeds. No one would have turned up anyway, place would've been empty what with SISU and NOPM.

Aren't the numbers allocated alphabetically for the draw... so we would not have drawn Leeds. Life is never simple.

No Prem and Champ were 1-44

Then the 45 onwards was in order of the 2nd round draw

So the first 2 teams out in round two were ball 45

So the winner of Cambridge v Coventry was always going to be 53

If we'd won, we would not have got Leeds, we'd be away to Barrow.

Gate receipts are split 55:45 with the away club in FA cup games so even if attendance was 20k, would only have received 11k worth of receipts. Again, not to be sniffed at but hardly going to make a huge difference – we were getting 11k last season.
