Good question...

Can someone else answer this. Trying to get some thought on the site about this.

I will answer your question though if no one volunteers.

I agree to some extent and it’s by no means panic-stations but I do find the lack of creativity both from some players and from Robins quite concerning.
I’m not one of those that wants Robins out but I do think we don’t seem to have a Plan B atm, there’s a real reluctance to change tactics and I personally think that’s holding us back. The manner in which we lost to Bristol and Rotherham as well as draws to Huddersfield and Norwich show how we can’t break teams down and I think there needs to be some tweaks with formation and player positioning, but that’s just my opinion, I know many others don’t share it which is fair enough.

3 of those 4 teams are in terrible form, the 4th was playing a makeshift defence with a depleted squad. We got 2 points out of 12. Really against actually decent opposition it could be embarrassing.

It was almost certainly gonna be a big comedown, thumping back down to earth.

But it does really feel like the club has choked at its first proper shop in the transfer market.

Assuming two more defeats next week that's 4 on the spin. 6 has just done for Ainsworth...

I think MR has a bit more credit in the bank than Ainsworth (who has had 1 win at home during his tenure).

I quite often asked myself that last season.

Below your post, stupot has posted the team from last season, if you look at it you can’t tell me that’s a super strong promotion worthy team.

O’Hare wasn’t playing for a lot of last season.

Yeah absolutely agree, against the likes of Leeds, Southampton, Ipswich etc we’ll be turned over pretty easily. I don’t necessarily think we’re awful but the way we play and the lack of tactical variety means we become pretty easy to defend against. I think Robins need to accept that playing with one style and one formation isn’t going to hack it week in week out.

Team. The one that started L1 promotion season. Robins may or may not build another, but the one we loved is gone.

I was always worried about the size of the rebuild this season feels like the leftover gift from sisu who didn't want to invest in the squad last year. The worry I had was that we would loose our identity and that horrible gelling word which appears to have come true. I never thought we'd make play offs this year but still feel we won't be near a relegation battle. Where we sit mid table will depend on how quick the team take on the identity again.

Yep. Was inevitable which is why I'm not losing any sleep over it. Sure it's frustrating but if we are serious about completely overhauling everything that's not a quick process. I expect we'll see a little pragmatism from MR as usual when the going gets tough.

Robins came in the first time and turned us into a decent side then he left and we turned rubbish and he can back and took the crowds from 6,000 to 20.000+ and got us so close to the premier league. Robins has took us from playing in a competition that Leicester u23’s enter to us playing Leicester in the league. We are still unbeaten at home. Then he has had the best 2 players sold from him and the replacements haven’t quite lived up to expectations. Talking of Robins going is madness to me

I think it's reasonable to expect a transition period .. the expectation levels obviously high from last season, but there's signs that most of the signings can be developed into top players .. when people talk about signings being shit they're obviously talking about the strikers .. but even then there is an obvious level of development required and allowed
Like he done with Beavon, Bakayoko, Biamou etc etc some players wish to develop, Biamou for instance but he just wasn't skillful enough, everyone could see that but at least he tried and atm we are seeing the likes of Hadji and Simms struggling to even control the ball at times and also appear lazy and unwilling to battle, so if you haven't got the basic skills or indeed desire where can he improve these players which cost millions? If we could see some signs of improvement maybe it would give us more hope but at the very least a player that cost in excess of 7 million you would at least like to see some signs that he was trying and at the minute that is sadly lacking, but I do admire your optimism and thats genuine not a piss take

Bit OTT shmmeee. Agree with the sentiment, with hamer and Vik wanting off and half squad out of contract this was always going to be the end of an era and a transitional period. I’m just surprised so many appear surprised with how things have been so far…some good….some bad/disjointed

Still hoping and believe things will improve as season progresses….injuries allowing !

Dressing room mentality has gone, but the structure and everything else Mark Robins has put in place is still there.

In desperate need of more leaders on the pitch and more personality. Only then can the quality we obviously have shine.

Some won’t like it but we are missing Kelly and Allen. Add O’Hare back into the mix as well and it will make a world of difference. Their work rate and presence will have an effect on others.

Seeming as people were whinging at the evening with MR and DK about us signing so many centre backs, I think that rules out signing David Brekalo

For me, the next transfer window in January is going to be vital. If we can bring in a dynamic midfielder and a striker that actually gives a fuck we could see a dramatic improvement in our results.

I don't actually think we are too far away from being a decent team again, but we need a little more creativity and we need a finisher.

We've created more than enough chances to be up around the top 6, but we haven't taken them, and injuries have severely hit us, and hopefully O'hare and Kitching will be contributing before too long.

Big window for us January, question is do we buy or do we loan in.
Loaning in premier players and I’m not talking youngsters is initially expensive wages wise but can be fruitful, buying established players be it from the prem, championship or abroad as we have seen can be an expensive gamble, will they fit in, will they settle.
Mentioned this before but Villa spent an arm and a leg loaning in Tammi Abrahams but the gamble came off with the help of his goals they scraped promotion and look at them now.
Doug King has mentioned being pro-active in the window so let’s see if he is.

I honestly think the only thing we’ve really been missing has been a bit of creativity. We’ve actually been quite good in possession up until the final 3rd and then we’ve just been a bit disjointed.

The strikers can’t make chances for themselves like Gyok used to so we’re even more reliant on a number 10 which we only really have two of at the club (Palmer and O’Hare) who have both been injured.

If we can finish around mid table that’s fine for me this season

If you’ve never watched one of those HITC videos then please do, the geezer’s voice that does the videos is so dull and monotone, almost quite funny at times, and I know I’m found of a comma but there’s wayyyy too many in his monologues.

“So what has happened at Coventry City? As you all know, or I hope you do, Coventry, a city of around 300,000, is located in the West Midlands, just east of Birmingham. But why have they performed so poorly? Well, to say the least, or to not put too fine a point on it, they have, some would say, had a strange purchasing strategy. The club wanted to generate revenue, as well as points of course, but their strikers, or forwards, as well as many others, didn’t live up to, or come anywhere near to, the expectations many fans, or even the manager, hoped would be achieved from the highlight reels they watched.”

I know I write a fair chunk when I’m arguing the toss but that guy just waffles on and on and on. Could literally sum up a 30 min HITC video in 5 mins

It’s the state of YouTube/social media these days. Watch time is king so videos get dragged out to fill time.

Although looks like the meta is switching to shorts now so maybe we’ll see a shift in content creation again.

It seems to generally be a race to the bottom to maximise whatever the current monetisation strategy is instead of creating good content.

Constantly harping on about last season is only going to do more harm than good

It’s over and we were back to square one as soon as Dabo skied that penalty, think a lot of people need to stop getting so emotional about it, get over it and get behind the players we brought in a bit more instead of constantly comparing them to two of the best players in the divisions history and writing them off as shite and cowards when a quarter of the season has only just passed
