I think it's reasonable to expect a transition period .. the expectation levels obviously high from last season, but there's signs that most of the signings can be developed into top players .. when people talk about signings being shit they're obviously talking about the strikers .. but even then there is an obvious level of development required and allowed

Just hope Robins is given the time, essentially we are rebuilding a whole new team. Same as he's always done over the last 7 years but just with more money spent this time.

Think we were lucky to have the team we had last season and how good they were. Was always going to be difficult to replace the big 2 departures and while we were never going to get like for like replacements, the big money signings so far have been very underwhelming.

I for one am certainly feeling very deflated about things at the moment and certainly don’t get the excitement of going to games like last season.

no disrespect to the guy, but it says everything about our transfer business/ state of play , when I’m looking forward to having Jamie Allen back in the team

I think he will be given ample time , won't see a change anytime soon , the only ones crying for change will be our fans if we lose a couple more

You see Jamie Allen’s importance way more when he doesn’t play

Let's be honest

Usually when a team is wank and change is needed it's when they are dog shit , not creating and conceding loads .

We're creating , we're not conceding loads and we still have a positive GD

We could just as easily be 6th as 20th if we'd have taken chances .. we will get it right give them time

This reminds me of the League 2 season slightly. Mcnulty labelled a dud, struggling to even get into the playoff places, didn't know our best team, just lost Jones to an ACL. Lots can change over the course of the season, not saying we will end up getting promoted but it does take a while for a new look team to find itself.

I don’t really know what’s best except it probably isn’t the current setup.

I know I'm in the minority, but I've seen enough in the games I've watched to actually think we've played quite well(!)

You're right, they are certainties for promotion now. QPR were top this time last year. To judge how a team has formed after 13/14 games is silly.

In most games we have played well in spells, the main issue is we don’t punish teams when we are well on top and then run out of steam and ideas

They have changed a considerable number of personnel but kept the same playing style. We have turned over a similar number but also dropped what worked for us last season in favour of a different style.

It’s trying to change too much at once.

Yes agree

And in xG difference we're ranked 5th. So with a change in luck and some better finishing we'll start climbing the table soon.

When I'm trying to think positively about it, this is how I also try to see it, League 2 season / McNulty.

Maybe Robins feels like we have the players to impose ourselves on teams and win by dominating matches .. like i said we could just as easily be sat here 6th now , should have got results at Leicester , Bristol, Hull against Huddersfield.. that's about 7 points alone .

That's football , we will get it right

Exactly. Theres been many games where results have been marginal. The Huddersfield one is the big one, but the one at Leicester could have easily been a point.

It’s just a counter example to the idea that large player turnover means it will take a long time to settle. With what we’re attempting even the old guard are having to learn a new approach.

Interesting that MR agreed we looked tactically incoherent on Wednesday too.

I'm amazed how Gyokeres still seems to be underappreciated by many. When he left it was all a bit meh, and then when his replacements aren't him, that should have been a clue.

First part of last season, the part where Doyle looked like a kid who didn't know what a football was etc, Gyokeres was about the only reason we had any points at all. And Robins was sensible enough to realise that with him so sensational, the give him the ball and let him see what he could do was the right approach.

Even if Simms and Wright were on fire, that was never going to work this season, so we needed to change *something*, and it seems we're trying to get back to the default style of our League One winning season really, possession, keep it tight.

And it's fine margins between success and failure.

Some resilience please

We have been spoilt in recent years and the odd bad season is inevitable. It doesn't mean we need to throw away everything we have been building

One or two good players don't define the club, its about the overall philosophy and the community we are still developing

Fuck me, last few games have been disappointing, the team has no structure and majority of signings are looking suspect at best.

However, we’re 13 games in, have players who will come good and a management team who’ve got us out of worst situations with worst players.

Negativity at the minute is off the scale.

Leicester could easily have been 3 tbf.

That Wright shot was about an inch from going in
