I thought the performance at Portsmouth was really poor in the 2nd half but certainly no worse than the performance against Derby at the CBS.
Clearly Frank Lampard needs time before being judged and also worth mentioning (not seen it mentioned anywhere tbh) is he doesn't as yet have Haji Wright available.... makes a big difference having the leading goalscorer in your team.
I'm sure we will see some activity in the January transfer window to try to improve the defence... it's piss poor currently.

It was far worse, the Derby game we were on top in the game but conceded soft goals. We were completely battered at Portsmouth and well beaten.

Don't think it would have been unreasonable of King to expect to beat Cardiff and Portsmouth. Those extra points would have seen us 10th, just 7 points off the play offs with half the season remaining.

If we were in that position and King came out and said we weren't spending in January as there was no chance of play offs people would be losing their minds on here.

Not really sure that the aim when we changed manager was to be sat here a few weeks later arguing if our latest performance was bad enough to be classed as the worst in years or if we can find one that was worse.

It wasn't quite as bad but it was close. Body language that day was comparable to Saturday. Too many soft players no willing to fight when up against a side wanting it more. Rotherham wanted it more than day.

If Robins was in charge you'd have been saying they're in the bottom 3 we should be beating them. The agenda is so fucking obvious.

Before Saturday they had the worst home record in the league

Or 10 points from 9 home games

Entitled to your view. Personally when going to play the side that is rock bottom of the league, has only managed 2 home wins all season and scored a grand total of 9 goals I'm not taking a 4-1 defeat as a sign of great improvements being made.

I'm not sure our supporters would be celebrating if we had home form similar to Portsmouth's prior to Saturday and were rooted at the bottom of our table.

There’s no way that match was as bad as Portsmouth. In fairness it was in the middle of a run of 4 losses on the trot which was pretty depressing, but as a one off match I’d argue Portsmouth was much worse.

Go where? When? There’s a 50% chance I did go to this mythical game you’re on about but seriously what difference does it make? Is there now a rule that anyone who doesn’t physically attend a certain game has no right to voice an opinion, and if they do that opinion is automatically wrong?

Portsmouth was abject, just totally abject. There was nothing after the first few mins to suggest we had any idea of what were supposed to be doing. I get the agenda, we all see it, but just call it as it is. Early days for sure, but surely a management team vaunted for their tactical expertise should be able to get a bit more out of these players than we’ve seen so far?

Mythical game ? What bollocks. I was absolutely specific regarding this game. Yet again did you even watch the game I specifically mentioned last season ? Unbelievable.

I don’t think that just because someone watched a game on TV means their view is automatically invalid?

I go to about 3 games a season as i live a 12 hour flight away but would like to think i’m more reasoned than half the horse shit on here

It’s horseshit- “I don’t think Lampard has shown us anything yet”… “your view is not valid because you didn’t go to a certain game last season”

it’s only my view and there to be shot at, but I don’t think we’ve seen a single thing to justify this ‘tactical expertise’ stuff we were told.

And when I say “shot at”, I kind of mean via opinions & facts, not on the basis of whether you go to every home & away game

100% correct.
In fact, I think watching on TV gives you a clearer view of the on the ball action.

Being in the ground allows you to watch the off the ball stuff better which you don't get to see on TV.

Even watching from different parts of the ground gives a totally different perspective

Does seem it but in reality two of those happen within 6 months. Just think the rebuild job is quite a large one. I think we need 4-5 players. But that’s into the existing squad. You have to imagine we’ll lose at least 2-3 of those currently in the starting 11. That leaves you needing the thick end of a new team.

Erm, no.

We were playing the team 3rd from bottom and with the second worst home record (not good home form as you say).

We were odds on favourites with the bookies to win.

There was a lot of expectation that we would win the game.

Not lose 4 fucking 1.

I’m sure we were the bookies favourites to beat Sheffield Wednesday and Derby at home.

Given your previous ranting on Lampard (which in itself was strange on a ccfc forum) it’s pretty obvious this is the way it’s going to be at every defeat

agenda pretty obvious

- win against the likes of Plymouth and Portsmouth - they are shite and we’d have beaten then anyway

- lose - wed have done better under robins

- wherever we end up this season - we’d have done better under Robins

Even by this forums standards its bizarre to see last seasons 9th place be dismissed as 'we only beat teams below us' while at the same time suggesting its an unrealistic expectation to want a win against the bottom side who have only won 2 at home all season

We were losing at home to sides below us under robins and were a point of relegation when he was sacked.

Last season we managed to lose to Rotherham - an achievement in itself

Amazing isn’t it?

Also “we managed to lose to Rotherham which was an achievement in itself”, yet at the same time we “had no right to expect to beat Portsmouth” who we were told had a ‘good home record’ (a lie). The lies & gaslighting are something to behold

We really don't need 4-5 players, not starters anyway.

Actually playing Dovin and getting a new left back with Bidwell as backup would make us look a lot better.

haha- you always use that line “and others” when you’re a bit rattled. But I don’t care either way

Anyway for clarity, here is my “agenda”.

* I thought Robins should have been given more time. We’ve done that to death
* now Lampard is in he has full support.
* I thought we could still get top 10
* I don’t see us as in any danger of relegation with Robins or Lampard in charge.
* By now I feel we should have seen *something* encouraging because we were told we were getting tactical expertise, but I don’t feel we have seen anything, I see zero improvement.
* My worry is that we’re now going to drift along and end up on a managerial merry go round in a year or so.
* I don’t believe the players are garbage- defence maybe but I still feel there’s enough there for top 10 (over optimistic maybe, I accept but that’s me).
* I don’t only post when we lose, it’s usually when something winds me up- mostly the over the top negativity, or in this case the attempts to rewrite history.

That’s it really.. and anyway it’s Xmas, we all want the same thing so I’ll leave you to get back to drinking, I’ll go do my thing, and I bid you a very Merry Christmas
