It was literally already there and it's not going anywhere. The likes of hamas won't stop until the Jews are gone, which isn't going to happen. In reality it seems it has no end.

I agree. There doesn't seem to be an end.

This is not going to make anything better though is it. You are just going to get even more people hating Israel.

But I'm saying no one in that part of the world needs help hating Israel. Its drummed into them from an early age. Sure the shooting could stop now, which would be nice, but its doomed to repeat.

There are many who would tolerate who get pushed to despise, that I know for fact.

Why is the default “carpet bomb kids” exactly? What are they trying to achieve. Absolutely ludicrous take.

I think we will be revisiting this thread in the years to come, Tom, because now I think there will be an increase of terrorism in the West and terrorist attacks here, in Europe and the US.

I think this has now increased the terrorist risk substantially.

I do fear for today now too.

Yes, exactly.

Building a labyrinth of terrorist rat runs underneath hospitals, schools and homes to use your own people as human shields was always going to create unnecessary civilian deaths.
Especially if you then prevent your people from evacuating the target area.

Let’s take everything you say as true, and to be clear, it isn’t. Why then do Israel kill people in the West Bank where Hamas have no influence? Why build settlements there in territory which even the US agree is not theirs? Why allow settlers to murder Palestinians living there?

Muslims. that's why, specifically the ones that think extremism is the way to go, unfortunately Islam is riddled with extremism, get rid of isis = hamas appear, get rid of hamas = isis appear and so on, to many take the quran the wrong way.

But it's OK they play the victim card over and over, it won't be long before europe is riddled with terror attacks weekly I mean look at Sweden now due to all of their good gestures taking in all the muslim "refugees".

Don't matter where hamas gun them down before they get there, can provide evidence if you'd like.

Genuine question here, do we think all Hamas fighters (said to be totalling between 30,000-40,000), are still fighting in Gaza?

Do we honestly believe that none "escaped" or "fled" with civilians?

Seems logical to me that quite a number of them would indeed have blended in with the crowds so they can regroup in the future and go again.

What would I do?

Difficult one.

The current situation is the culmination of events over many generations. The Israelis have made various gestures over the years such as withdrawal from the Sinai under Camp David back in the 80s (?), and withdrawing from Gaza in 2005 which came back to bite them on the arse.

If I was an Israeli I would be looking to set up some defensible boundaries well beyond the current borders to forestall a possible collapse in support by the US - say a chunk of southern Lebanon, and yes - empty the Gaza strip out too - as unpalatable as that may be. It will always represent a threat.

Things are OK with Egypt atm, but if say the MB get into power and things deteriorate, possibly retake the Sinai as a buffer and hang onto it this time.

I appreciate this may sound extreme to sensitive western ears, but considered against geopolitical trends over centuries it's just one small non-muslim people trying to hang onto a small sliver of land in the face of an historical Muslim onslaught. Arabs have never been squeamish about slaughtering or ejecting non Muslims. Its par for the course regionally.

From the perspective of a promoter of peace, it may be possible to apply a temporary band aid, but Arab hatred of the Jews runs deep, as does their dedication to the destruction of the State of Israel. It will all resurface again with the next manifestation of hamas/ISIS. There aren't many grounds for optimism.

Sadly, the Israelis don't have much choice if they want to survive. I reckon they'll be doing airstrikes on Iranian arms factories before Christmas.

On a brighter note Afghanistan is doing OK these days. The Taliban are even issuing tourist visas!

Just a few thoughts with the caveat that I may be talking completely out of my arse.

PUSB.

Was the concept about hamas and isis, no matter who you get rid off another one will appear due to the extremism in Islam.

As for the weekly I said it will get there, they're only not common now due to out security services but they're not the there always. Manchester, London, and many other places

Using your logic, surely you also share the same thought process about right-wing, white middle-aged men and the dangers they represent to society following terror attacks carried out by them, including the murder of an MP? After all, you're tarring millions of people with the same label based on the actions of a minority.

In a completely unpredictable turn of events seems there's a large group of far right, for lack of a better term, protesters fighting with the police to force their way through to the cenotaph.

The footage on social media isn't exactly my idea of paying your respects to those who died.

Police detain over 100 pro-Palestine protesters - after dozens of far-right demonstrators arrested

Arrests have been made throughout the day as protests took place in the capital amid a march over an Israel-Hamas war ceasefire. The prime minister condemned the actions of both far-right and pro-Palestinian protesters who caused disruption.
news.sky.com

Also reports on socials, although none from any mainstream media outlet yet, of far right groups overwhelming police in Chinatown as they try to reach Hyde Park where the anti-war march is due to set off from later today.
