Would you accept that Palestinians do have some legitimate concerns and reasons to march? Do you think the EDL have any?

If either of them go and kick off, they are pricks.

"Marching" in a completely different country is clearly not going to bring a ceasefire, is it?

OK do you think it is reasonable for someone to have concern for what is happening in Gaza and the West Bank? Do you think it reasonable to support the EDL.

Using your logic, people marching support Hamas.

I know you think all protests are stupid and all protesters are twats, but I think their aim is to put pressure on the British government which has given their full-throated support to Israel’s actions.

Using your logic if you have any concerns about the marches or anything like that you are following the EDL.

You answered a question with a question. You made a statement do Palestinians have a right to march. Now it seems goalposts are moved

I don't know what the composition of the marches is and I don't think it matters.

Do you feel it is legitimate to march out of concern fir what is happening in Gaza and the West Bank? Do you feel it is legitimate to march in favour of the views if the EDL.

You made the statement about Palestinians not me. I have no idea of the motivations of those marching but I doubt it’s purely an outpouring of sympathy for Gaza

If the EDL is not defined as a terrorist organisation I believe legally that’s a permissible march - do you agree?

Legally permissible but would you say it's a just cause?

Well you think all surveys - even in the guardian - are stupid to be fair. I guess if the Basildon Gazzette does one on should we keep a local bingo hall it’s all fine and dandy though

That’s never going to happen though SBT. Either way Israel will do what it will do (rightly or wrongly). I can understand the march to bring attention to the plight of Palestinians currently and a show of solidarity, weekly marches won’t make any difference though and unfortunately might well lead to unrest as well as probably making the UKs Jewish population feel pretty uncomfortable

I personally don’t but again you are the one who said all those protesting are Palestinians. The reality is you’ll have a lot of anarchists, anti Semites and rabble rousers at such protests who have zero interest at all.

Some 'interesting' posts on twitter today from Galit Distel-Atbaryan, of Netanyahu's Lukund party and member of the Knesset, and until the roles recent dissolution the Minister for Information
Erase all of Gaza from the face of the earth
The Gazan monsters will fly to the southern fence & try to enter Egyptian territory or they will die & their death will be evil
Gaza should be erased
And fire & smoke on the heads of the Nazis in the West Bank
A vengeful and cruel Israel Defense Force is needed here

In further depressing news BBC Verify has an article confirming that since the Israeli military issued instructions for civilians in Gaza to move south the south has come under Israeli bombardment. It gets worse, they did leaflet drops with maps indicating safe areas, and then dropped bombs on those areas.
Some of these warnings were accompanied by maps with arrows pointing to vaguely defined areas to move towards. Three strikes we examined hit within, or close to, those areas in the days after the warnings were issued.

There are 20,000 Palestinian nationals living in the UK..the vast majority of the protesters are Muslims but of course all Palestinians are thier Ummah's so they support them no matter what.

You’d hope behind the scenes there’s some pressure being applied. Most would support their efforts to eradicate Hamas but the civilian death toll and apparent lack of effort to minimise this, is becoming totally unacceptable

I think this is a fundamental misunderstanding of why people protest tbh. I don’t think that protesters of any stripe seriously expect that turning up outside Westminster on a wet Saturday afternoon will directly change government policy.

I didn't say they were all Palestinians.

Do you think expressing concern about what is happening in Gaza and the West Bank is a less legitimate cause than supporting for the EDL?

Anarchists!?

I hear some of the protestors didn’t even go to Eton!

What a weird take. Every protest has weirdos turn up, every single one. Trying to claim the represent anything is always bollocks. Be it saying all Brexiters are racists who want to hang politicians or claiming all pro Palestinians are antisemitic.

I do wonder if it’s just sheltered people that have never actually been on a protest not understanding this.

Well that is not quite true. Kuwait booted all theirs out, c20% of their population as they supported Saddam, Jordan had a war with them and they assassinated the Jordanian PM. Egypt for similar reasons has amassed military forces on the Gaza Border and it is not Israel they are worried about. And look what happened to Lebanon.

Now using them as a stick against Israel is a different thing. Win win.

Four UN schools being used as shelters have been hit by Israel. At least 20 dead being reported.

While we’re fretting about war memorials, US lawmakers are introducing bills “to expel Palestinians from the United States”

The irony of a Trump ally calling for Safeguarding Americans from extremism. Also who’s killed the most Americans? White kids in high school shootings or Palestinians. My guess is the former and by some distance. The US went through this in WW2 with Japanese settlers in the US, it was an absolute joke then and it’s an even bigger joke now.

Most shootings are in the Hood, the ones that get the bigger media attention are the outliers.

Of the top 10 cities for shootings 9 are Democrat controlled and have been for a lifetime. Or more.

Homicides in Chicago: A list of every victim | Chicago Sun-Times Here is the ongoing list for Chicago.

Trump is all bluster and I assume at least one of the charges will stick. And he will be in jail before the next elections.

The last shooting, well it seems everyone and his dog knew about this guy and nobody did anything. Care in the Community. But that is a common and seemingly unresolvable issue.

It's ok though I've stopped using McDonalds and Starbucks and I'm telling people who do that they murder kids. Solved it.
