Netanyahu is starting to get questioned by his own people for how even if he wasn't warned by Egypt 9which the US congress confirmed he was) he was so unprepared for an attack.

Andrew Mitchell who is a (still) a government minister was talking about get aid in to the Gaza Strip. Opinion is on the turn it seems.

I hope so.
Given how much trouble Netanyahu has been in domestically he really afford the public to turn on him over this as well.

Using the language of Hitler to argue for genocide being carried out by a Jewish state is beyond my comprehension.

Remember when he used to try very hard to be a Christopher Hitchens tribute act. Got a new grift now.

Got no time for Alistair Campbell but Rory Stewart tends to talk very matter of factual and is a wealth of knowledge on the history and current picture of the Middle East and Gulf states so is worth paying attention to and gives an excellent brief into the history of Israel.

Prestwich and Lower Broughton, it's amazing how you suddenly see lots of them and then none at all.

Leading Jewish groups, the culture secretary, and the government’s independent adviser on antisemitism have hit out at English football’s response to the attacks by Hamas in Israel and criticised the Football Association’s refusal to light up the Wembley arch.

With the FA believed to be nervous over being seen to favour one of Israel and Palestine, it has decided to hold a period of silence for all victims of the conflict before England host Australia in a friendly on Friday night.

On a day when the Premier League also broke its silence on the situation, the FA said England and Australia players would wear black armbands and that supporters would be prevented from bringing Israeli and Palestinian kits and flags into Wembley.

The FA said "we stand for humanity and an end to the death, violence, fear and suffering."

That's exactly what they should do, surely? A period of silence for all victims.

How on earth can anyone be against that, apart from the Daily Mail?

And before you or anyone else starts talking about Ukraine, it's not the same thing at all.

That was one country invading another country. This was a terrorist attack

Gaza is the third most densely populated area in the world and half of the population of Gaza are children.

They are trapped there are and can't escape.

Sure, hit Hamas if you want, but this isn't that is it. It's indiscriminate bombing and tens of thousands of Palestinians will be killed, or starved and impoverished.

Not trying to get on a high horse about it all, but I am sure the first retort on many a lip will be "Ukraine! But what about Ukraine and how we supported them."

Just pointing out it's not the same thing at all.

The IAF has dropped 6,000 bombs since Saturday, almost the equivalent to what the USA used in a year in Afghanistan.

Israel is one of the most militarised country's in the world, is a leader in surveillance, in both equipment and techniques.
I read the reason some of the gulf states want to normalise relations is to get access to their surveillance equipment.

They've got Gaza on lockdown, everyone trapped in a 25 mile square area, its oneof the most surveilled societies in the world, so how come they can't just go in and hunt hamas down?

How come they haven't got a fairly good idea of where they are?
Wouldn't it send a better message, 'we know where you are and we'll get you'.

Instead they're going to rain hell on innocent civilians, I'm not sure that makes them look as strong as they think.

Theres definitely something fishy going on. Especially as it's been all but confirmed that Netanyahu was given a warning by the Egyptians.
If the 1.1 million people do manage to get to South gaza they'll never return. Another land grab by Israel.
As I've already said, this has been a massive opportunity for Netanyahu handed to him on a plate by hamas.
I fucking hate him and them, I really do, this is one of the most depressing events in recent history and there's been a few.

It should be very clear now that they intend to kill as many Palestinians there as possible and to use Hamas as the excuse.

I agree. Sometimes by choice. Doesn’t mean that they should green light the actions of Israel.
