Video Shows US Tomahawk Missile Strike Next to Girls’ School in Iran - bellingcat

New video footage shows a US Tomahawk missile hitting an Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) facility in Minab, Iran, on Feb 28, showing for the first time that the US struck the area. The footage, released by Mehr News and geolocated by Bellingcat, also shows smoke already rising from the...

Trump said that.

Even Hegseth couldn't bring himself to say it was Iran. He knows.

As I said, if it is them then there are questions that need to be asked about how it happened, but at this point there's still only theories and not confirmed evidence.

It was them. The video shows a precision strike by the US on the building next door. The school was also hit by a precision strike, with the exact same ammunition . It was quite obviously the US.

Its unlikely we ever get "definitive" confirmation. The US are never going to own up to doing it.

The fact they are refusing to deny it speaks volumes.

They are able to release details and videos of various strikes, even name people killed in strikes. Except this one, this one they claim to need to investigate.

They know it was them.

You're right though, they won't own up to it.

So with this is let’s wait until we’re absolutely sure and have all the facts, but when people tell lies about Haitians eating animals, you say it doesn’t matter if it really happened or not.

Interesting.

This idea that we’re not able to attribute blame for an atrocity until the group accused of being behind it admits to being responsible sets a somewhat interesting precedent.

They may have done it, as I said. You seem absolutely desperate to blame them though. It is kind of odd given how much bullshit comes out of Iran that you would just believe them straight away, and be so hungry to do so. At this point there still is not enough evidence.

People from third world countries often eat animals we would regard as domesticated. Why do you keep defending this sort of behaviour? There are videos online of similar things happening in the UK with swans, yet you have said nothing about that either.

Again, some of you are far too desperate to have a pop at America and Trump that what has happened in Iran is seemingly a lot less important. If they have hit a school then there needs to be serious questions asked, but that doesn't directly mean that a regime which has killed tens of thousands of people should be allowed to carry on either.

I’m not defending the behaviour in places where it happens. But Trump and Vance made the claim, on national television, that it was happening in a town in Ohio. You commented that ‘it doesn’t matter if it’s true or not, that’s not the point’.

In other words, the facts matter for one side, but not the other. Be consistent.

The claims that the US are responsible aren’t just coming from the Iranians though?

This is a curious amount of restraint from someone who is usually only too quick to speculate as to whether some kind of stabbing incident is actually a terrorist attack.

I'm not 'desperate' to blame anyone. I do think it's important to know who it was though, and for them to acknowledge it.

I'm not believing Iran. The evidence isn't provided by Iran. Unless you think Iran controls all satellite imagery?

The evidence is overwhelming.

People from less developed countries do eat all sorts of animals, this is a fact. To say one particular incident is or isn't true is completely missing the point. It is like the 'last night in Sweden' comments. You all got tied in knots about that because Trump got some of the facts wrong, but the actual talking point, which again most people were too cowardly to discuss, was the rate of violence in Sweden having skyrocketed since they opened the door to migrants. This was ignored on purpose by placing the focus on Trump.

I agree that should it have been the US that fired the rocket, that consequences need to be undertaken. I think there is significant chance it was them, and to hit a school is deplorable and very, very sad, but 1) again you are more focussed on this than tens of thousands of people murdered in the country, and 2) it isn't the same thing to pin a rogue rocket on a country as it is to claim migrants (from one of the most deprived and dangerous countries in the world) are committing crimes when there has already been significant facts and evidence.

I get that you want to have a pop at Trump on every occasion, but this is not Reddit. There is a lot of focus on what I am saying, or Donald Trump. What Iran say and do though - not questioned. Like I said previously, you don't help yourself.

Agree with the second paragraph completely
There needs to be a plan for what happens after you bomb the shit out of a sovereign nation
It’s batshit crazy

it was in libya Iraq Afghanistan all pariah and possibly failed states

you cannot just bomb and then say ok we’ve done enough now over to you

You have posted more articles trying to claim it was them than you have about anything else during this conflict, or indeed the Iranian regime itself.

Well I'm sorry that a school full of innocent kids getting blown up by a megolamaniac who claims to be peaceful bothers me.

The pop isn’t at him in this case, it’s about applying different burdens of proof based on who is on the receiving end.

It is apparently easier to believe that immigrants in a town are eating people’s pets, with no evidence provided, than it is to believe that a school was bombed by the US while it was bombing Iran. I think we both know why that discrepancy is there.

This is just an incredibly tiresome routine from someone who themselves posted next to nothing about the plight of ordinary Iranians before this war began. Indeed, the overwhelming majority of your posts about Iran now are only made in the context of defending Donald Trump from criticism.

Yes it is. This is all about Donald Trump for you. You and several others got called out so you are working over time. The fact I'm getting triggered posts from the same people attempting to counter it all by coming at me is about as obvious as it can be. The failing to understand my point repeatedly and talking about cats and dogs is also deliberate and has nothing to do with Iran.

We could have a constructive conversation about the plight of the Iranian people and the country itself, but that seems to be difficult, as I pointed out before, partly because it means criticising an Islamic regime. I would genuinely be interested to hear more about your friend (who I presume no longer lives there). The history of Iran is very interesting and quite frankly mental, particularly since the overthrowing of the shah to what's happening today. The Iran/Iraq war another one, as was the hostage crisis with the US, which did a lot of damage to the relationship between the two countries in the first place.
