REVEALED: Coventry City in line for £600k Wembley windfall and tickets could rise above 45k

Wonder if he has been promised a bit of that? Will see come August.

If so, we can thank Slade for that by getting us to Wembley.

And mowbray smashed bilics west ham to set the tone.

In a season where no manager has done well at least the 3 of them did enough in the cup games to get us to wembley. Hopefully now robins can finish it off.

You were here even quicker than I expected.

If I'm ever in the shit, I won't bother calling 999. I'll just broadcast 'Mowbray is shit' at the top of my voice and you'll be on the scene in no time!

Perhaps we could club together and buy him a new baseball cap to say thanks?

Sadly, that equates to about 1,500 season ticket holders and we are likely to lose that amount next year from what people have voiced over the last few months.
SISU will still wait until they see the committed revenues in the form of ST sales before letting Robins have a budget that we would like.

Somehow I doubt it an extra half million would be great but it's a one off sum thanks to Wembley, what happens the season after next IF there is one for us.

only a small fly in the ointment, but the club probably has no real reserves of cash and need to be able to finance May, June & July when the club has no income. That's an additional cash burden to building a squad. So I wouldn't get hopes up

The accounts that were signed off in February recognised the Wembley impact but also stated additional finance would be required in the next 6 months. If that statement is true I would have serious doubts about a windfall to build the squad...... they need the windfall to simply keep going

If we win the cup though it might just give us a bit of a bounce. I think Robins has been brought in not to avoid relegation but just to get a few wins on the board so that we at least go down fighting. A cup win plus improved performances on the pitch might just keep the season ticket sales up.

also from the article unless Oxford fans match us for numbers then we create a bigger windfall for their club by having more fans as the split is 45:45 between the clubs and 10% to the EFL.

Who knows what SISU will do with the windfall but this season is dead and all should be done from now and the close season to make sure we have the best squad possible to compete, early contract offers to those out of contract he wants to retain (won't be many) look at the youth, blood them.

early contract offers in the summer, we can hope

BRILLIANT!! That means the NOPM-ers can come along, safe in the knowledge that SISU aren't getting a penny of their ticket money.

The powers that be are to be thanked, if they hadn't introduced Prem and Champ
Under 21 teams to the competition, we wouldn't have got close.

Surely OSB, you know from reading this forum, that all money not siphoned off to the Cayman Islands should be "invested" in new players. The salaries and other day to day costs are paid by the fairies...................layful:

What this does show is one of my big bugbears, playing reserve teams in the FA and League Cups.

Lower league teams absolutely need whatever cash they can find just to keep going, so an away trip to Arsenal was a godsend for us not so long ago.

Plus, winning games is a rarity, so get us in the habit...

So I never understand why lower league tems don't try and win the early rounds of the cup with full strength sides, so they get a fighting chance of these windfalls.

Where it can also probably help us is we won't be quite so desperate to sell Willis and co. to anybody, and can at least hold out for a piss poor amount of cash, rather than being utterly fleeced...

Serious question, even if he got all of it (which won't happen) do you believe that would be enough?

So if this is the investment that MR has been promised then basically any investment going into the club is what we supply. Why do we need TF & SISU again?

SISU are already threatening the FA over revenue streams at Wembley. TF saying we'll move the Checkatrade final to Northampton if no agreement is reached.....

If the likes of DKE, Harries, Willis, both Thomasesesessss, Stokes and Stevenson all agreed to stay with us next season then yes, £600k would probably be enough to fill out the rest of the squad to a standard that could challenge in league 2. In reality though they won't all stay and Robins will have to build a whole new squad.

It would just be thr £600k though for the squad, that would be in addition to ticket money, sponsorship, FL money, corporate.

The average wage in league two is £40,350 pa (£775 PW), if our turnover doesn't drop too far (yes that means no NOPM) and we keep a wage bill of c£2m, we should be easiliy one of thr largest resourced in the league.

Actually I looked up average attendances in L2 & was surprised to find out that the 3 best attended teams can more or less match or better the present City crowds, obviously there is far more potential here and a promotion/play-off campaign would see much bigger crowds. Not sure SISU will look at it that way, they're not very smart when it comes to running the business,

Our current average would put us 3rd in the table, plymouth and Portsmouth above us are both in thr top 3 so could go up, and if they do should make us thr biggest supported team in thr league as long as NOPM doesn't bite too hard.

Totally agree, too many people are seeing the headline and not looking at the true picture, last season I believe we struggled to get to August, this season will be the same, most of the 600k will not be available for MR, it will go against wages and running cost until the season restarts in August.

Expect "We are waiting till the end of August" routine again, then total shite to be signed

i would think someone will be sold come season end to cover the period until season ticket money comes in though! £600k gate receipts will keep them in Champagne & caviar May to August me thinks

Robins will be on freebies until they know about the level of Season Tickets and money in - no different to the last few years.
