I was having a chat with someone earlier around the set up you have these days at Premiership clubs away from the playing squad.

Of course there’s £200m jackpot and with that comes a step change in the business of running the club.

There are all sorts of sporting directors, big commercial teams, mass scouting teams, glamorous training grounds etc

We have come a long way on a lot of it since hitting rock bottom. But where will we need to do some immediate adjustments and growth off the field in the Prem?

We will be behind almost every club in every aspect .. thats 1 issue that a club who has spent 25 years outside of the division will face initially .. its about trying to grow into the division season on season
.
We have to tackle year 1 and hope we survive first

Is it called the Premier League or Premiership, I genuinely have no idea?

It hasn't been called the Premiership for nearly 20 years. Calling it that annoys me way more than it should.

There is a case to say that the most important season in the Robins era was 20/21 & staying up in the Championship.

I imagine behind the scenes they have been making plans for the possibility of promotion, surely?

Like as in stadium / facility improvements and commercial opportunities like shirt sponsors, surely already being explored.

For me the main areas of investment are in players who we can turn a profit on, and looking at getting the academy up to Cat A standard. For a club like ours, that is key for our sustainabilty

I’m sure Doug has a plan. The sponsorship is going to be through the roof and we need to maximise it.

We need to spend a £100m on building a world class training facility to be a consistently competitive force in the upper reaches of English football.

Joking aside, there's surely potential to join up with Warwick University to do something really special on that side of the city, where lots is planned to happen inside the line of HS2.

Doug mentioned in an interview a while back if we go up we can then consider new training facilities.

Everyone’s obsessed with us buying connexions But this seems like a no brainer to me. Unless Warwick are still smarting from the Garlick nonsense.
