Yes but the post was aiming criticism by comparing styles of play

Not because of his tactics so much though

If only Southgate had had that option.

Probably still end up bringing Right Backs in.

If we had not scored two very late goals, one highly fortuitously, City would be 13th, and we would be saying that Lampard had done an ok job so far, but nothing to write home about #finemargins

Which was fortuitous?

Lampard has been a manager for a total of what.....5 seasons?

1) Derby to play off final
2) Chelsea qualifying for Champions League whilst under transfer embargo
3) Kept Everton up

He shouldn't of gone to Everton, and back to Chelsea for the 2nd stint, and probably should of never of taken the Chelsea job the first time around, but he was never going to turn down that chance.

Fair but if we hadn’t conceded two late goals at Norwich we’d be 6th

That's incredibly harsh on Torp and Allen, who have been a big part of our form resurgence.

We shouldn't be looking to force certain players back into the team. We've looked better with the players that have been playing, and the results speak for themselves.

I'm very curious about how the next few weeks will go. It's been a very optimistisic time, but whilst we're now in touching distance of the playoffs, getting the correct team selection with everyone avaliable will be what makes or break us for the remainder of the season.

Yeah but Sheaf and Wright are not going to be starting from the day they are fit, they will be added back in gradually off the bench. And managed back into full fitness. What a luxury to have a decent 'deck' of capable players.

I actually think Sheaf will benefit massively for having proper competition. He's basically been told for a couple of seasons now that he is the main man, the next off the conveyor belt for a big money move. When fit he was a guaranteed starter regardless of form. Being that comfortable can't be healthy. He's now got to prove himself worth of a place in the team. He's going to have to produce it on the pitch again, especially if he feels like he is still wanting a big move or a new bumper contract.

Lati gifted Norwich a goal in the last minute, swings and roundabours.

Don't but it.
V Norwich our game management and use of subs cost us.
V QPR and Wednesday we got it spot on.

It's a 90 minutes plus game, a goal scored in the 94th minute is as valid as one scored in the 10th.

We've managed the last 2 games better than our opponents.

100% - I wouldn’t have got rid of Robins and felt a bit ‘meh’ about anyone other than Moyes, Potter or Cooper and that was frankly, unrealistic. Lampard was by far and away the standout candidate and the other runners and riders have struggled since (barring Eustace, somewhat).

This comparison to Southgate’s England Southgate is just dumb. The game we didn’t deserve to win was Wednesday.

Even against QPR, we were the most likely team to win the game. The games, we were the better team in every game we won, home and away.

The fact that we’ve done it without 3 of our best players really shows how much better coached the side is. As you say, add a few players to the group we should be able to carry this momentum into next season if we don’t go up via the playoffs. I’m optimistic that we’ll finish 5th and fancy beating Sunderland over 2 legs to get the playoff final, again. 3rd time lucky?

I would also take finishing 5th and beating Sunderland over two legs, playoff final? who knows. The one thing I do believe is that exciting times lie ahead if we can all stay patient, trust in and stand by Lampard.

What a stupid topic. In a short period of time he has turned things around and got us winning, got us within one point of the playoffs and you still aren't happy? I mean seriously??

Southgate was one of the most successful England managers? Southgate was able to work with the players and he’s said it himself, works with statistics to ultimately dictate the playstyle, formation etc. The comparison is that Lampard has statistically been one of the best managers in the championship for results. The comparison is one of praise, where we haven’t had perhaps the team available we’d like/ played some scrappy games, we’ve still achieved some fantastic results. I wonder with the way Cov are set up with coaches and back room staff if we have a more analytical approach to our gameplay.
