I see Maton up the city quite a bit…and have done over the years too.Not until Maton, Duggins and Lucas apologise. Then and only then can we start any reconciliation be considered.
they’d have seen us bankrupt
I cant believe youre still in the group/friends with this guy. Id of cut him off from my life the moment he stepped foot inside the stadium on a day the insects played!A bloke I know has messaged a group I’m in: “Cov in the premier league. Amazing”!
I remember being right royally fucked off with the same bloke, when he was going to watch wasps and smugly telling me how great it was, “it’s our stadium”, and how Cov had brought it on themselves.
Clueless/shameless prick.
You’ve got a point.I cant believe youre still in the group/friends with this guy. Id of cut him off from my life the moment he stepped foot inside the stadium on a day the insects played!

Honestly, i was savage with it. I cut long standing friends and family off for it!You’ve got a point.
Football fans never forget? Try telling that to the fans of Sunderland who have long ago forgiven of forgot Jimmy Hill relegating them back in the 70s. They could really hold on to a grudge there. But fair play to them for being the bigger people and letting it go!It’s part of the role of a football fan to remember slights and bad treatment. Make up songs about them to belt out with gusto. We don’t forget. A football club’s owner has to do what best for the club in the here and now. Doug is a successful business man. If he can build a relationship with the Council that helps the club to thrive then he should go for it.
I think you’re right. It’s much bigger than being ‘just a game’. I’m not sure at its heart, for me at least, it’s not really about relationships, in one form or another. Maybe that’s a big discussion for another time.Honestly, i was savage with it. I cut long standing friends and family off for it!
I will never forgive the council (or the individuals that were culpable at least). Ill never forgive the CET and I STILL dont read their dross! Ill never forgive individuals like Moz Baker or the so called Sky Blue Trust. Anyone that calls themselves a cov fan that felt jumping in to the bed of the insects or the council in a way to rid sisu (ie, let your club die) should be banned for life imo! Let alone be sat in the press box riding the crest of the success wave!
And for those that will no doubt pop up and reply to this post/thread and say "is just a game" or "surely friends are just bigger/more important than football" etc etc. No! Absolutely not! Not for me no! When me and my kids mum split up, my PTSD returned with a vengeance, my depression hit an all time low, and looking forward to Saturday when me and my lad could go up the ricoh, or travel to another new stadium and spend a day together, was one of the only things that stopped me topping myself. So its not "just a game" or "not that important" to me. It was literally a lifeline at my lowest point. The thing that kept me alive. So anyone who tried to destroy that, be it through self greed, stupidity, misinformation, naivety, or ignorance, can fuck off. They should all be issued lifetime bans imo!

Where were they we we were shit?To let bygones be bygones?
Or does the generation of councillors who showed such disdain for the club have to have moved on?
Rachel Lancaster spoke with such pride about the club at the Lord Mayors service and it seemed genuine
Where were they we we were shit?
Fuck me! Look how haggard and weathered that old leather rugby ball in the middle looks!
i think things need to change, and i think it would be in the best interests of both the club and the council if they did. but the council have a huge amount of ground to make up. let's see how they go about addressing that. From a professional standpoint we absolutely need to move on but King doesn't have the history with the council and they seem to have a good working relationship.
From the standpoint of supporters absolutely not. They actually tried to harm the club, if not cause the club to not exist entirely. As far as I'm aware there's not been the slightest hint of an apology or an admission they got it wrong. And two of the councillors, Duggins and Matton, who were front and centre while all this was going on are still around and in the public eye.
