when you read AT saying "I thought Sammy Clingan ran the game and apart of the result I cannot fault the players" he's acting under instruction from the board and highlighting one of the few assets we have left!!!:blue::blue::blue::blue::blue::blue:
Clingan did have a good game, i think theres no point in him not talking about that. Plus if anything it speaks out to the other 'veterans' who had a shocker and telling them that they were an utter waste of space that game, in no uncertain words.
Clingan was our best player Saturday know doubt about that. Just makes you wonder how long we can hang on to him. The kids did well again, but it quality in the final third we are missing. Thorns knows it, we know, SISU choose to ignore it
Well, I wasn't there for one so can't comment. All I saw was the Beeb coverage. Notice Chris Hughton said he thought that Brum were deserved winners. That's opposition managers for you though.
Sounds from what I've heard that we passed the ball around well but had no end product.
But my one query with you about the point we were unlucky to get is that it didn't seem like we looked like scoring at all. Therefore how does that make us unlucky?
Otis we did pass the ball around nicely and at times Brum had difficulty getting their game together against us. certainly in the first half.
To be frank neither team looked like they could score but we at least pushed and then tested their keeper a few times and with luck one may have gone in. More than what Brum ever looked like doing.
the second half was more even but again neither looked capable of finishing. 0-0 would have been fair. The sub Rooney broke and created something from a half chance and it ended in the net much to the relief of Brum tbf.
After that I guess we huffed and puffed and just never really had the spike to penetrate. had those chances gone in first half i think we would have gone on to win the game.
Clingan did run the game for 80 minutes. I saw nothing to suggest Brum will be any good this season and i see Leicester lost at home convincingly. Well there you go - early days yet. I can honestly agree with Thorn if we apply ourselves the same way in games coming up then wins will arrive.
