that since it has gone quiet on the takeover front we have really started to put a good run together. i know it shouldnt really affect the players once they are out there on the pitch but it must play on there minds. again since it has gone quiet there have been little or no protests and the players seem to have forgotten about it and relaxed a little and concentrated on the football. maybe this has why it has gone quiet, for the time being at least.

It's been quiet on the takeover front for ages though? Our home form's been decent but what was the excuse with the away form? All form now seems to be pretty good but that's only been for last 6 games... A lot less time than no takeover talk. It seems to me anyway!

Maybe they have heard it is happening.

You not considered that?

I got a feeling take over has been agreed in principle, and its just a matter of what league we are in to finalise details. I just can't see SISU funding CCFC losses for another season. I would imagine a deal will have been agreed allowing new owners to pay all or part of outstanding liabilities to SISU at set times, and when certain conditions are met, for example gaining promotion to the premiership.

This is obviously gonna be harder if we are starting from league 1

If the takeover does happen, the first thing we should do is at least try and put cheeky bids in for Norwood and Nimely.

Deffinately, two players if we have the money we need to build the rest of the team around and to get them on 5 year contracts... And try and get cranie to sign a last minute contract.

100% agree with you there otis. i think if we do stay up we have a good chance of getting both, even on loan for the season. whilst they are both very good players i dont think they are quite good enough for there parent clubs first team

Would be well happy with we got another 1 year loan out of them.

Bearing on mind that not only has there been the transfer take over to distract player's minds, but the alleged £1.3m of the player's investment that been 'lost' in Michael McIndoe's schemes; there's been a lot of off-the-field distractions for the players to contend with this season

Yes, it's a coincidence that our good form has improved since it went quiet on the takeover front.
But it's no coincidence that our form has improved since the sisu-out-campaign went quiet.

Really? No coincidence? That went quiet ages ago too. Forms picked up in last 6 games.

To be honest, I can't see SISU sticking around past the end of the season, especially if we stay up

I think it is more of a coincidence that when AT was allowed to sign Nimley and Norwood in January and that the 4 C's Clarke, Clingan, Cameron and Cody came back from injury. We had a little bit of depth in the squad and Bigi, Thomas and Christie were no longer automatic first choices and could be rested and rotated.

As many excuses as there are to explain it. I take it if we stay up and another 6 senior pros leave in this summer including automatic first choicers Keogh, nimley, Norwood, Platt and two bit part senior pros Bell and Platt. AT then is allowed to sign 2 players to replace them. You will then expect us to do better than this year? Or am I just making up excuses and that transfer policy did not influence things.

In what regards?

I have always liked him and think he is a good player.

When AB signed him I looked his size, considered the type of football AB was playing and his career history and thought bloody hell here we go.
First time I saw him play I thought he is actually quality not just a big lump for heading the ball. I changed my mind on that day I have not really changed my views on him as a player.

However I was not a member of this site back then and did not know you so I presume you are not talking about that change of mind?

Exactly. Shows what a little bit of quality and depth can do.

Is it a coincidence that we started to do better once we had the missing link from midfield to our strikers once Nimely and Norwood signed on loan for us? It took a few games to settle them in and work out the best way to play them into a system. Also bolstering our numbers by a couple more and give us more choices on how we can play? A coincidence that the diamond formation now works when needed and used?
