I think it was a clear marketing strategy from the club to attempt to get revenue into the club on a more 'certain' basis. ST's are down from last year so they need regular ticket money in from sales rather than the ever fluctuating walk up revenue (plus you have to employ people on the door).
I also think that this was set for the club to do well and therefore see more people come back later in the season and get the 6 game package deals or 1/2 ST offers. I agree its over priced but I can see why they have put that extra £2 on the ticket.
Twenty is plenty (although I thought that was just for away fans?) but football is football equally!

This is not an issue personally but I do feel that there is always a line in the sand that people will not cross and I believe that whatever that line is for most people should be established through market research, rather than just picking a figure out of thin air that suits the owners projections.
It is much easier to raise prices during a spell of success that a decade plus of failure and dross. I don't think our owners are business orientated but are accounts driven. No shit I hear you say........

I went for a meal last night at an Italian restaurant. Beer nearly £7 a bottle; overall bill too expensive. Most of the blokes in there had a £7 bottle of beer.

Sometimes you pay a bit more than you should. People's own choice. In context, I don't think the extra £2-£4 makes much of a difference as to whether you go. I can't remember the last time somebody said I'm not going for a few beers if I spend £24, but yes if I only get to spend £20?

More importantly, can you tell us which Italian restaurant it was? So to avoid disappointment, please!

You can argue the going rate all you want, it is still far too expensive.

If the local brass is offering a shit BJ for over the odds, I am just going to go home and flick on Pornhub instead.

As it happens, the standard of BJ has been slipping drastically for a while, the prices haven't reflected that, and more people are booting up their laptops as a result!

On the basis of what's happened to the club over the last few years, I would say yes we are.

I suppose it depends on what you give them to work with

:emoji_thinking: While I agree thart we are declining, I would not go as far as to say we are "free falling".. Free falling would suggest our decline has been rapid and it hasn't, yes our decline has been bad, but we aren't free falling especially when you think of our League status.

So we agree on our direction, we just differ on the speed we are traveling at.

Absolutely, we have been declining, but I feel that under MR that could change.

I hope you're right, but even if you are I think SISU will find a way of messing it up.

£24 to watch us at home or £30 to go in the away end at a Prem game.

Us lifelong sufferers will pay. But it won't help getting new supporters through the gate. The problem is that SISU have always planned short term. And they never planned to be with us this long.

Saw this on the website today Home Tickets

Sort of like what an earlier poster said, seems they are encouraging money up front/committing to more games

Money upfront will help forecasting the SCMP with our turnover limited to 55%, plus it's better value for the fans buying a package as opposed to a walk up price
