Is history repeating itself? the worst spell of our history below - A Worcester based team beat us 11-2 in the FA Cup - next years attendances if we get relegated could be similar to the worst ever attendance recorded at Highfield Rd

1901 – The club suffer their worst ever defeat with an 11–2 loss against Worcester-based Berwick Rangers in the qualifying round of the FA Cup

  • 1928 – with Coventry struggling near the foot of Division Three South, the club's worst ever attendance is recorded. Only 2,059 turn up for the match against Crystal Palace.

Quite, post 1992 the game has been taken over by money. Obviously it always played a part as the best players gravitated towards clubs who could pay more down to their larger crowds and associated business activity. Now crappy little clubs like Wigan, Stoke and Hull can get to the top of the pile with some benefactor or another's help and stay there for a while due to the obscene money at the top, leaving a glut of clubs now stranded below the poverty line, feeding on the scraps !

Stoke aren't a small club

Stoke have great fans but they have only grown in numbers of late with success. They're a smaller club than at least a dozen or more clubs stuck in the slow lane of the football league.

Stoke were founder members of football league. Not sure you can call them a small club compared to ccfc

As big a fan base as us, perhaps a little more dare I say.

Stoke had pitiful crowds in the Championship until they achieved success at which point crowds increased massively. Which will be exactly the same case with us IF we ever start to climb the leagues. Which obviously won't happen under the cunts that currently own us.

Let's just say no-one turns up to watch a particular game but there was a homeless person sleeping in the stadium who gets up and leaves when the game starts, does that mean the attendance is -1?
