Just asking, its not my opinion. I'm keen to know your feelings?

It's not a SISU out or a moan...

The Fred Eastwood Saga- Fitness right?

"He needs to get his act together" "had all season to get fit" "sent to fat camp"

OK, now lets explore something else...

We're playing a striker who we have just 'purchased' (What ever that really means)

Who says something recently along the lines of "I thought I was feeling pretty sharp, but its clear after a couple of matches I need more work on my fitness" - he's also clearly over the weight of the average player.

Personally, I always seem to think juke (Easier to spell) always looks tired at circa 66 minutes onwards - perhaps the reason for his lack of goal - only 'plays' for 3/4 of a match?

And... (Not that this one matters - but I'm just putting an argument forward) BBC sports match preview states "midfielder David Bell faces a fitness test." Why? We've had 2 weeks without a competitive match?

Could it be:

a) We've made cuts to the back room - perhaps people like nutritionists, fitness specialists, specialised fitness planners for each individual (as our bodies are all different)

b) We've had the same back room team since SISU arrived and no one is sharp enough to realise that this has been a problem.

Pre-SISU we we're named the fittest team in the championship, just before they came in (I forget under which Manager) - OK no success, but not really the point I'm making.

Since SISU arrived, we have had a substantial amount of 'last minute' or near to - goals.

Nothing to do with money if it is them - but it is a clear indicator that even if they ever made money from the club, they would still struggle to make us successful on the pitch if they over-look a simple basic like that.

Sounds to me like Thorn likes a bit of drama, he's not calm and collected like Bothroyd was. Take his recent 'they've got three managers the sack' talk. Exact same individuals in the same team for three years - really? NO

If Eastwood has piped up at Thorns tactics then I could see Thorn 'banishing him' from the club. Also, I don't know if anyone else saw this against Southampton, but after one of their goals, Deegan ran over and had a face to face (What looked like a row) with Thorn, just before half time. He was subsequently replaced at half time.

So is Fred out for reasons of 'up-rising' 'Syria style' - "Pipe down, you'll encourage the others and we'll lose our rule" but disguised as 'fitness issues'

After all - how can one un-fit player be made to leave and three others continue to stay?

Who named us the fittest team in the championship? plus we have a long history of conceding late, or just after half time, in fact we have a long history of conceding.

As for Eastwood, I just wish a previous manager had done this to him, I said all along that once he got back in to the Wales squad (under Boothroyds tenure) he would then go off the boil, he has since proved that time and time again.

I think you need to maybe read between the lines (hint hint). A professional sportsman so unfit that we would rather have a child on the bench than risk him for 10th mins? Think the problem may be a bit deeper and more serious than simple lack of fitness - no evidence or insider knowledge of this, just a suspicion - or he could just be a lazy worthless waste of talent.

What I mean of course is that it takes him ages to write out 100 times - " I am a professional football and must get fit and earn my exorbitant wages" What other lines would I be talking about.

really? The same player who scored in a recent friendly but not worth playing for 10 minutes over ROD? That unfit? I don't buy it - Reading between the lines for me... it stinks of stubbornness. Cutting your nose off to spite your face.

nah, he's just a lazy fucker. We've all seen that even when he has been fit, he demands that the ball be passed directly to his feet or he is not interested in working for it.

think the problem is when eastwood came back from fat camp he expected to be straight back in the team and thorn didnt put him on the bench, not sure which game it was may have been reading. eastwood wasnt happy and jumped in his car and buggerd off home so i think that has something to do with it.

F him I say.
As a professional at what he does supposedly then he should not have needed to go to fat camp in the first place, shows a total disregared for everything that is CCFC.
He never made it at wolves so I think there is something more underlying with freddie that just AT etc etc big headed maybe?

I think it is more to do with finances. I reckon there must be some clause to pay him more or extend his contract at a certain number of games.
SISU are not going to pay more for the product, which I think most of us agree has been below expectations.l

One thing you couldnt knock Boothroyd for was player fitness! This was something he was very strict on, and our players mostly looked fit and raring to go. Now we're lucky our players can last a whole half!

The lack of fitness coaches etc is an interesting point. Big Sam notoriously has a back-room team of 20-30. Ours is probably less than 5.

But as far as Freddy's concerned-screw him. He's blatantly a fat lazy git seeing out his hefty contract.

Eastwood has had the opportunity to perform under enough managers, but he has not convinced any of them
He is worth a starting place. Nobody to blame but himself.
