If we look at our team does it really need improving yet I don’t think we should sign anyone new till Jan unless some big premier league loan comes in this transfer window.
But the team we have can do the job of keeping us up in the Champo easy imo.

I think we have some quality players in our squad but I’d like another experienced midfielder not saying we need that just something that personally I’d like to see. Just to come on late, put their foot on the ball and ca things down in those 1-0 wins. The way Hutchinson, Wise, Nalis, Doyle could. Wages would be an issue these days, plus not sure that kind of player is available, Huddleston still a free agent.

I think I’d like us to sign another one or two. I think a midfielder...possibly two or possibly another centre back.

I have the feeling that Kelly could be in and out the side this year and now we’ve let Eccles go we’ll need extra cover/someone to compete there.

Sorry for stating the obvious but more generally I’d like us to sign players that improve the team.

I would like another attacking midfielder after Jones' injury (and Bapaga's).

Unless Hilssner is going to make a real difference in the first team, which I'm not sure about yet.

Yeah I was wondering about an AM. Shipley can play there and Hilssner but you’re right if we lose O’hare or Allen our cover there appears suspect/is unknown.

What robins has done well over the last 3 years is to consistently look to improve the team every window with signings and during the season with coaching.

There will probably be up to 10 players who fall into the improving the team category that they will be waiting and hoping that something can be done. Look at the Cheltenham kid last year!

Whether they happen won’t be down to an injury or quick decision they will be down to analysis, planning and hard work in negotiations with clubs agents and players over a period of time.

I wouldn’t sign an AM unless we’ve decided Hilßner and Jobello aren’t up to it and we’ve managed to move them and Kastaneer on. And even then only if Bapaga is injured.

Maybe a loan until Jan if people won’t be fit for a month or two.

Yep robins and ccfc aren’t short term any more. We are planning to progress each season.

So fearful of another lockdown and that game being our last for a month or so

I think at our best Robin’s ball is very effective but the moment we dip we lack speed and physicality to hurt teams ... therefore I would say ...

A tall and fast attacking midfielder
A lightening quick prem league striker who can come on as defences tire.
An old head as a number 2 goalkeeper

Yes definitely, would take a new AM with pace, even though we have 6 players for that position, I think we lack real quality there. Wigan had a lad on loan from Everton who looked a real class act (can't remember his name), Marcus Madison is still available as he's seemed to price himself out of a league one budget but may come with too much baggage for a championship club (us) to take a risk.

Ohare is am and out most influential player

I think it was Dowel, not sure if he's even available, but here's exactly the sort we should be after.

O'Hare is brilliant, but past him, we're average at best (Allen) and completely untested with the others.

I feel we still need cover in the defensive midfield area, Hamer will be suspended at some point (it’s inevitable). And if Kelly gets injured, we are in trouble. I thought Eccles looked the part, and was surprised we allowed him to go out on loan.
I’d still like another striker in, and I’d be happy to offload Baka, Biamou and Kastaneer to free up some wages.
But I feel MR knows what he’s doing.

I’m not surprised we loaned Eccles out. At 20 years old he’ll be playing regular first team football in League One, which is better for his development than making the odd sub appearance for us in the championship

I don't want to vote because I'm not bothered too much about perm or loan, just about the best tbats available.

I would like another CM in, another right back (this probably on a short term loan) and another AM.

What I would say, is that at the minute I think its more important to get a coupke out the door e.g. Kastaneer, max or baka.

And i like loyalty to a squad, but its about improvement so if we were offered a superstar on loan for an established position I think youd be silly not to take them

Ideally another versatile defender, I’m worried who would be the Hamer replacement and another attacking player.

Letting him go out on loan is great for the lad, IF we have cover, but we are light in that department. With the amount of games we have coming up we now need to draft in a loan, IMHO. If we have a good prem loan coming in, then off loading Eccles for a season makes more sense, if we don’t, we could end up regretting that decision.

If you want to challenge for promotion you always need better players who would make us a better team to achieve it, they could come as seasonal loans or permanent, yesterday imo we didn’t have a poor player on the pitch but I doubt that would stop Mark Robins signing someone he believed would come straight in and make us better.

We should always be looking to see if improvements can be made regardless, provided budget allows.

I think our squad will be good enough to be at least reasonably competitive barring a real injury crisis and if we have to go into the season with the squad we have that'll be fine, but if we can make it even better why wouldn't we?

Fans need to stop thinking about players and positions and about squad and wage bill.

Players with long term injuries are still a wage going out. You can't just keep bringing players in.

Our squad is already big when looking at the numbers side. We need to move a couple on and free some finances up.

Yep we need players to leave who aren’t good enough for where we are headed and loan others out who may be good enough in the future.

I've said sign 1-2 players. In my mind the perfect scenario would be to sign developmental players who are good enough as backup right now, so young players from league 1/2. I'd go with an attacking midfielder and a LWB. Also an argument for another DM.

Although if Bapaga not out for too long I'd have him as our developmental AM. Maybe a loan in that position until Christmas.

We have 3 season long loans from the Prem who all look like regular starters, so not certain we're allowed any more.

I understand your point. However I trust Robin’s judgement. I would bet that we have a couple of recruitments lined up, just waiting to see which premier league youngsters are surplus

Yeah, it depends how the people below are progressing too. Burroughs was supposed to have a decent future, as well... and at some stage they have to play, or go elsewhere.

Really like the look of Ostigard. If we have a decent season, and we end up 'losing' a Rose or similar to a PL club, I've already made my mind up that he would be a great permanent signing.

5 is the limit isn’t it? It might yet prove to be Rose, but I’d like a CB on the same level as Dabo/Harmer/O’Hare if one was available. A back line of Rose Østigård and one other with a bit of physical presence a la Fadz would be perfect.

Yeah I think we can have 5, but not all long term and not sure they can all play together. Also assume he wants to hold something for January. Not certain of any rules though as they serm to change every season.
