The right now decide what the truth is in advance and dismiss as fake news when reports are to the contrary.

Why must every decision be categorised as right left as if all people think the same way? It's as ignorant as suggesting everyone female or gay or black or Muslim are the same and yet most of those using the term would rightly jump on them gor suggesting such characteristics define a single thought. It's lazy and wrong.

Perhaps I’m just tired of ‘the left’ being referred to as one homogenous thing, one too many times.

The answer is not to be the same.

I consider myself right if it was a binary choice, yet so much thrown as being from 'my side' I find wrong and disagree with and getting pretty fed up of being labelled one way. All it does is antagonise and push people further from centre.

I would take this more seriously if it came from someone who hadn’t done a fair bit of this himself.

So if the NHS budget is increasing in line with population growth and the system is getting worse, this shows that the amount spent per capita is not enough and is therefore being underfunded.

Thanks for agreeing.

Ands if you want to blame flatlining GDP per capita growth on immigration, then focus on the employers who are bringing them in to keep wages down.

On the last paragraph, it seems like a contradiction as I understand it.

To begin with, you ironically call out employers which is fine. But, in relation to health and social care, it’s the government who’s the employer… the same people who set the immigration policy. As a whole, successive governments have folded into the employers demand for low wage migration.

On taxation, you’d expect the government to close loopholes that allow corporations to avoid tax. Why would this not apply to closing loopholes low wage migration? Particularly from groups who are a net drain on the treasury.

No one (it’s fair to say this applies to you too) would trust businesses to pay more tax voluntarily so why would we expect the same people to voluntarily keep their labour costs higher?! It’s v blue sky thinking.

I disagree. To use your analogy, the electorate has been voting for lower immigration and haven’t got what they voted for. It’s Farage is selling a product that people actually want on this specific issue. You often cite Denmark on other policy areas and their left wing party of government has adopted policies that is being echoed by the British Right and other members on this forum has called ‘far right’. It’s not, they’ve addressed the Danish people’s concerns on immigration and lo and behold, it’s no longer a key issue for them. In my view, the same would apply here if reasonable reforms were made and demonstrably working as intended.

To state it again, managing your borders and a selective immigration policy is not a ‘left v right’ political discussion.

I think we’re actually crossing wires on this one.

Really?

I often disagree with folk, but rarely label them. I have 15 years of posting to trip me up on Grenners spreadsheet, but pretty sure I've never called anyone woke, snowflake, gammon etc etc. I'm much more likely to use cunts or wankers.

*edit - just searched all my posts on the 1400 odd pages of politics for the word 'left'.

You'll note this isn't the first time I've said about the division being wrong, never used the term and in fact been 100% consistent, so I'd welcome you to retract your inaccuracy.

Of course they were because you were one and take everything to heart. Absolutely not even relevant to this discussion but you can't accept wrong or fault so doubling down in a different area.
