I didn't watch the game but there are replacements sat on the bench for MVE, Torp, Rudi and EMC (Simms and put Wright left) really.

Lampard seems to have the same problem as Robins that he doesn't really trust his squad and just wants to use the same 11-12 players week in week out. You can't moan about MVE being ill and tired and the leave a £4m back up on the bench.

Reactions: wingy and CovRes

Fair point. And he’s been awful for a few weeks. There’s definitely a few in need of a rest. Is a fully rested Allen a better option than an exhausted Torp for example? KKH, Eccles, Allen should all start at Charlton

Rushworth excellent.
MVE got by passed so many times and he was no quicker than the Ipswich players he was against.
Brau looked rusty & gave ball away but he has a lot of pace
Wolfenden a few dodgy passes.
Kitch decent I think
Grimes got dominated & closed down
Rudoni largely ineffective, stuck on wing as Ipswich played down middle
Torp blows hot & cold
Wright, thought he turned up in the first minute then saw little, had a couple of shots & a header (I think deflected or saved), then not much seen of him, kept losing the ball with pathetic challenges & the defender was getting ahead of him and winning all the 50/50 balls.
EMC fouled so much, had little possession
Saka looked slow against the Ipswich team normally he gets back, last night he was left in their wake.

Eccles looked OK but not enough time to do much
Simms had little opportunity to do anything
Allen, not the answer in that circumstance, that was a sub so Torp's torment could be ended. More or less an admission of defeat.

I confess I left 5 mins early it was that bad.
