Rushworth man of the match. First save was amazing, second very good
Mve. Terrible, way out of position for the first goal. Fucked up for the second
Wright, not seen his thread bumped for a while? Not interested at all.
Rudoni, he actually makes us worse. He slows us down and fucks off and leaves space.
Emc too busy trying to wrestle furlong.
Brau will get slated, passing not the best but defensively wasn't that bad.

Ref. Dog shit.

Rushworth 8

It’d be 4-0 but for him.

MVE 6

Seems under the weather.

Brau 4

That was a very poor performance by this player. There’s always some muppet that wants to defend poor performances - don’t bother - this was a shocker. Out of his depth.

Kitching 5

Silly early booking meant he had to be careful for 70-80 mins. Distribution poor.

Woolfenden 5

That was a Dom Hyam (SBB) performance v us. Why play someone against their favourite club and not Thomas / Lati? NOT saying he was purposely bad but we missed Thomas on the end of long set plays. Nearly cost a goal with faffing about and gave away needless corners. See how Rushworth gave him a gobfull. Poor

Grimes 5

Totally off the pace today.

Torp 5

Not sure where he was meant to be playing but we totally lost the centre of the park.

Rudoni 5

Not sure where he was meant to be playing but we totally lost the centre of the park and totally off the pace today.

EMC 6

Showed some fight but needed to switch with Haji at some point to mix things up.

Tats 6

Tried but no service

Wright 6

Some effort but looks to want to be somewhere else.

Subs

Allen 6

Meh

Eccles 6

So so.

Sims 6

Someone needs to put him in front of a mirror to remind him he’s a 6ft 4 physical beast of a player and then pull his beard to get him fired up before he plays.

You might be right. He didn’t play well and maybe gets covered back by Thomas normally when he presses high.

Rudoni is a passenger at the moment and has been since his return. Fantastic player and he will find his form but at the moment he slows us down and is too predictable. We need the window to open so we can add some quality depth to the team.

He refuses to defend. Second half he basically issued a written invitation to Clarke who took him up on it and won Ipswich the game. Anyway, doesn’t matter, he leads the singalong at the end.

Rudoni has started to believe his own hype and gotten a bit carried away with himself. Not enough press and harry and grit - too much showboat.

Didn’t want to put a foot in / get ran past. See how Ipswich doubled up on our wide players in the final third? Where was Woolfenden? Where was the double up on the right? Watch back - woolfebden playing zonal.

Rushworth - 8 - only player with any credit
MvE - 5 - poor going forward, misplaced pass caused the second.
Wolf - 6 - fine, unlucky on the deflection
Kitching - 6 - fine
Brau - 5 - started very erratically but I thought he stood up well defensively.
Torp - 4 - poor today, gave it away, couldn’t get in the game
Grimes - 5 - when he’s off it you know we’re in trouble
Sakamoto - 4 - did nothing against a CB playing LB
Rudoni - 0 - Don’t know if he’s injured, has been reading the press clippings or has just regressed massively but fucking hell he has been awful since coming back. Offers nothing, slow, gives it away.
EMC - 4 - battled well but was poor, shocking pass lead to the first (though he wasn’t helped by either run by Rudi or Wright).
Haji - 0 - I’m bored of this now. Never turned up in a big game, walks around, can’t trap a bag of cement, just absolutely shite. Simmo did more in his brief cameo and should be starting going forward.

Subs - who cares

Summary - Thought that first half was the worst performance I’ve seen from us in about a year. Can deal with Swans/Bristol etc when a few players have an off day but can’t have 10 players being poor against a side like Ipswich.

Unfortunately, thought we’d got away with it at the start of the second and were growing into the game but just a massively unlucky deflection. Fine margins in these games. We get the pen at 0-0 and I think we win that luckily.

10 points clear still and we’ll bounce back (with some additions in January).

Woolfenden isn’t a starter for me, he’s only good enough for backup. Was signed as competition but don’t think he is anywhere near Thomas.

Take the point but their doubling up was largely midfielders. You can’t have your CB out on the wing. Don’t get me wrong, I like MVE but this season in particular he seems to regard defending as a chore that is second to getting forward. He’s ridiculously easy to get in behind.

Rushworth m.om (fucking obviously)
Everyone else piss poor.
Rudoni needs dropping, Allen or Eccles would be way better.
Sakamoto below his usual standard too.
Torp was shite.

The big worry for me though is the form of Wright and Simms, we looked like we played with 10 men tonight. We just couldnt make the ball stick up front, and it was too easy for Ipswich.

Don’t think they were the issue. We never controlled the ball so their service was non existent. Ipswich out passed and out ran us in midfield and controlled the whole game as a result

I agree. Tats was getting back to press / cover but there was a distinct lack of cover from Rudoni / Torp. Not sure if they were instructed to sit at the invisible third way line but there was little or no snap / presence / press.

I guess Milan can be forgiven to an extent playing through illness but we just didn't turn up tonight, special mention for Haji who was fucking dogshit and special special mention for Rushworth for that save alone but almost everyone had off days tonight and against the premiership pretenders we cannot do that lets hope after the rest they've had tonight they should be nice and fresh against Charlton and get back to winning in style

Do we think rudoni is being told to go out wide a lot, was shocked to see how isolated wright was with no number 10 behind him, he was constantly on the right. Feel for wright with 0 service

So so poor. Looked so nervy from the outset, absolutely no control or passages of play. Woolf and Brau poor. Grimes couldn’t get on the ball because of the press and their set up. Rushworth and potentially EMC to come out with credit- Eccles must be wondering what he has to do. Why can’t there be some in game changes- everything like for like switch things up! Wright a complete shadow marshaled well by cipre and O’Shea but their left back who’s a centre half was a stand out! Crazy!

Feels like this has been the trend for the month of December, so lazy off the ball.

I think he’s been given a free role. Unfortunately this has left a huge gap in the “8” position and the Ipswich midfield had free range to build from deep. No press.
