I have got to admit I was totally against us building a new ground and even said id never set foot in it, bit since the council/Wasps debacle and the recent revelation that they had been talking to each other for the last two years, I am very pro us building a stadium.
Yes we all know SISU royally f**ked up getting it before they came along so they take a huge part of the blame for where we are but its the only future we have in my eyes, and it being in or near Baginton is totally fine with me

Baginton is fine with me too, but I do want us to maximise the potential of getting as many fans watching the club as possible. The nearer any stadium is to the populate, the more it will feel part of the Coventry community and the more chance of getting bums on seats.

Agreed.

I'd also like the see where this 365 day revenue will come from.

The old Courtaulds site at the end of Lockhurst lane is perfect.

But SISU's investors won't deal with CCC apparently.

Already been sold to Persimmon for housing, it was one of the sites Maton was asked about ages ago and said it was a non starter as it was already designated for housing.

You think wrong. Rugby Council discussion revealed that.
CCC have no choice but to deal with any applications. If they reject it goes to appeal and is out their hands.

House building land delays could be reviewed to stop builders banking land.

If you believe Fisher then the potential investors aren't prepared to have anything to do with CCC so how would it get to the point that an application was made?

In summation.

Sisu- Bad, CCC - Bad, ACL - Bad. Fisher - Bad, Seppala - Bad, Wasps - Bad.

We need to be breaking bad.

I always put my argument across. It is for the record that councillor Maton said that there is no site available in the Coventry council boundary - his statement.

This whole thread is ridiculous for many reasons. One is the assertion you need to be closer to a city centre to attract greater crowds. Really think about that and it's pretty absurd.

Can you provide your workings, that a stadium outside of Coventry will be viable.

Well I can prove a stadium one hundred yards from the city boundary can increase the attendances by 80% in one year from a stadium ten minutes walk up from its centre.

That wasn't the question.

I asked you the other day to provide your workings on a CCFC stadium outside Coventry being viable. You did not. I've now asked you again.

Please provide accurate data to my question.

No one knows what the business model is. With respect the Ricoh project does answer the question.

Tell me, how much did the Ricoh project cost?

I never said I know it is. I said it could be if the strategy is to get developers to pay for the vast majority of the build.

The Ricoh development - including the retail park cost the council less than 10% of the actual build. The MK Dons project cost the owner of the club nothing.

So if a £30 million stadium was constructed on the basis other retail investors fund the bulk of it of course it's then viable.

To answer your question about the Ricoh's cost Grendel:

Yet previous council taxpayer investment was nothing like the full £118m final cost of building the Ricoh, which opened in 2005.
Costs were partly met from around £40m profit on a £59m sale of part of the land to Tesco; £21m borrowed money later repaid by ACL’s Yorkshire Bank loan; from Europe, the club, and from the former regional development agency, Advantage West Midlands.

From the CET.

Where have I said they have? You asked if it was possible and I said yes - which it is.

Face it if the Ricoh had been built there in the first place no one would moan anyway.

I am not saying they will build anything but the argument from some that they can't walk there when they can at the Ricoh is pathetic. Build it in Berkswell and I can walk there

Those days have gone unfortunately. I would say Coventry is retailed out.
The old gasworks site seemed to be a stroke of luck for CCFC and I still don't understand how we messed up.

I've asked you about viability. Anything's possible.

It's also not just the cost of building, it's the revenue it would generate.

Do you believe it would generate 365 days revenue that would support CCFC pushing for the top end of championship/ premier league?

I believe the club will only have any chance of achieving if it owns access to those revenues - they offer no gaurentee - but they are the only hope.
