Happy posting.
Welcome to the group just believe in what you post as skyblues fans we are very passionate about the club and badge so if you believe in what you post who cares what anyone else thinksI thought I'd introduce myself as I've just started posting, but have been reading the forums for around 2 weeks. So thought I'd give a background as it doesn't take long here to get tagged as taking sides. Born in Coventry 1968, my parents dragged me to Melbourne, Australia in 74. Followed the Sky Blues via Our ABC radio station who'd give the scores of every English & Scottish Division from 6pm on Sunday night. I was lucky enough to come for a holiday, got to see 3 home games, 1 of which I've been told is one of the best ever in the clubs history, city v spurs, boxing day 86.
I follow everything via the Internet & digital radio. When I discovered this forum I was stoked. I gotta say you're all very passionate, it's a shame what's happening is pitting us against each other. I'm sure I'll make a lot of friends & enemas along the way. PUSB!!!
(& no, I won't be buying a membership next year, lol)

How good is the MCG? I love it, shit for football though, saw Australia v Greece there. De-ice? Lmao, it was 35c today & dropped to 24c last night.Welcome Al
Melbourne what a beaut of a city, funnily enough my Facebook memories has just reminded me its 6 years today I was watching England retain the Ashes at the G!
Bet you haven't de iced your car this morning!!
Thanks Robert, I'm not sure what to make of it. I can see why there are differing views. Someone posted about getting everyone at a game to support the team...i actually think it's a good idea. Pick 1 home game, convince as many to go as you can, do nothing but support them & see what happens. If we're behind 3-0 at half time I can send you AC/DC's - Highway to Hell lyrics to sing.Welcome to the group just believe in what you post as skyblues fans we are very passionate about the club and badge so if you believe in what you post who cares what anyone else thinks

It's a great area at night. We've got a new purpose built football stadium across from the G & next to that the tennis stadiums.I've covered my fair share of sporting arenas around the world and its my number 1.
Saw 6 days of cricket and an Aussie rules game there (not a fan of AFL, what the hell is constituted as a foul!?)
Amazing stadium the way it's lit up at night, near the CBD (spent a few nights in the Crown plaza staggering out seeing the lights of the ground at 3am!) and the walk from the City, along the Yarra to the ground, superb.

I've drifted from Aussie Rules, they recruit athletes now & try to make them be footballers, skill is shit & the rules are always....evolving. Give me the round ball any day.

That'd be it, Melbourne Storm (rugby league) & Melbourne City (football) share it. It's no Old Trafford, but it's the only one we've got. You've got a great memory.Think that stadium was there when I was there the Melbourne Rebels rugby union side was playing their (the stadium with the ripples in the roof?)
I was staying up by the eithiad stadium another cracking ground on the other side of the city centre.
Greetings from Czech Republic and welcome to SBT to another member of the Sky Blues abroad club!I thought I'd introduce myself as I've just started posting, but have been reading the forums for around 2 weeks. Thanks Esoterica, glad to know there's similar people here who love the club.Greetings from Czech Republic and welcome to SBT to another member of the Sky Blues abroad club!
I think there's probably more of us abroad than back home now. At least outside of Coventry itself, if not abroad. By not being subjected to watching every week our connection to the team hasn't been dulled in the same way as those who've been served up the current crap for years. Thanks Esoterica, glad to know there's similar people here who love the club.

You could be right, I'd be shattered if I watched this crap live.I think there's probably more of us abroad than back home now. At least outside of Coventry itself, if not abroad. Lol, huntsman look scary, but are harmless. Good for keeping other bugs away.Visited family 3 hours out of central Melbourne and had a white tail about 2 feet from me hadn't spotted it luckily a family member had and saved the day.
Had a huntsman the size of a dinner plate move into my room in Sydney!
Thanks travel, I'll see what I can do. I wonder what'd happen if you threw huntsmen instead of plastic pigs?Well, can our new Bushwhacker member please catch and send us a Huntsman for the purposes of hiding it under Timmy's matchday seat?
Just imagine it...all quiet at the Ricoh, as usual...then comes the squealing. Priceless. Oh and welcome Al, by the way.
G'day Reg, thanks mate. I can get Sky Blue Player, but it's not worth it, when it's daylight savings here, the games start at 2am. That'd stuff me, lol. I listen to talksport in bed, if I've not fallen asleep, i get drip fed the any scores happening. I can't listen to the game via BBC due to rights restrictions outside the UK. If you've a night game, I'm at work & just follow through twitter & my onefootball app. I hope you're having a cracking Xmas Reg.Hi Al, nice to meet you - a very happy xmas and new year to you and your folks. Glad you're a City fan, despite having a good excuse not to watch them! Does Sky Blue Player work down there, or is there another way to follow the game?
G'day Kiwi, glad to know I'm not alone. Very very similar. Or stay up late knowing we're behind at halftime & drifting off hoping a miracle has happened.Hi Al,
Another Melbourne based SkyBlue fan here
I guess your Sunday mornings are like mine, wake up with optimism, check the score, sigh, go back to bed.
Cheers
