Andy Thorn confirmed last night that Freddy Eastwood is facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines after pulling a hamstring
AT is anxiously awaiting news on Lukas Jutkiewicz who limped off with a dead leg in the second half.

Midfielders David Bell, who didn't start against his former club, and Carl Baker, who aggravated an Achilles problem, are also battling to get fit to take on Sven-Goran Eriksson's Foxes

This might be the justification that Ken needs to go back to SISU to get some money for a striker, perhaps a silver lining to the cloud.

I can live in hope can't I ?

We don't need money to get a striker. We have Shaun Jeffers and Clive Platt.

We had Martin and O'Rourke, we had Stein and Alderson, we had Fergie and Wallace, now we have Cannon and Ball.

He says he is looking for a new striker but has been saying that all summer, lets hope this kicks up the urgency.

Benik Afobe at Arsenal looked good in the Emirates Cup yesterday. I said a month or so ago that I thought he would be a good loanee.

Benik Afobe? You sure that's not an anagram of we're broke?

I think Tantastic Ken is a not very good blagger.

We just need somebody with an experienced head to play alongside the Juke and we will be sorted.

I haven't seen any pre-season....was christie okay? i mean if he played right back and keogh went in middle does that make us very weak?
or maybe cranie pushing keogh up middle.

Just hope if he gives ROD a go, he takes the opportunity and nicks 1or2.
God i need all my optimisum this week!!

Sounds to me like we're about to willingly enter shit creek (The leicester game) without a paddle (half decent striker)...

My friends, I think we are bollocksed...

If we are going to get someone it needs to be asap as they need to adapt themselves to thorns style of play and get to know the lads. Its really not looking good. I wouldnt mind using Ruffles if we run out of options.

The players who will face leicester on saturday have a real chance to make a name for themselves amongst fans and more importantly to Andy. Everyone's getting a little pesimistic (not totally, i'm sure we all have a bit of hope), but against a side joint favourite to go up provides a real opportunity to put a cat amongst the pigeons. It's a shame we dont have a full strength squad to put out though.

I'm hoping we win on team spirit and familiarity but these injuries really don't help and it may not be enough now.

We're going to need our defence to be on top of their game - our CBs to prove to AT that they should remain in the starting line-up.

I think with the first two games against Leicester and Brum we should give Platt, ODonovan, Jeffers and Wilson a go and then bring someone in. We have until the end of August to get someone so give the present players a go. If we don't why do we have them? It's no good relying on 3 or 4 players and the rest are 'maybes'.

Cranie back to midfield as emergency cover? Did a good job there previously. Can't see we have many options.

It's difficult to speculate because we don't know the extent of the knocks to Bell, Baker and Jutkiewicz.

So we have 8 experienced players left and 2 of them are GK's. Mmm. All we need now is Sammy to get injured. Our squad is looking as weak as the Southampton one when they were forced to field loads of kids (remember our 4-1 win? Even Freddy looked good that night!).

What this boils down to is-you can't survive without players. If we have the 24th best budget in the division, we probably have the weakest squad. That usually means relgation. AT needs to be better than Jesus at miracle working, and even he needed a bit of help (people to provide loaves and fishes, etc)!

To all the SISU fanboys who said this sensible planning is the only way to go-does that mean you accept relegation to L1? Because that will cost a lot more money than a couple of signings, believe me.

Some goon (was it Steve McLaren?) was giving 'scores' for who he felt would do well next season in the Championship.

We were in his bottom three.

Unless things improve dramatically at the Ricoh, I fear he may be right.

He talks a pretty good game McLaren, when he isn't baked He rates Harrison as one of the best coaches in England. I think his team will be up there in the top 6. We can only dream of some of the players they have. Sadly, I say that about most of the sides in our division now.

When we've sold everyone off we can have our homegrown XI - LB anyone? (unless we move Clarke as he has played there and put Christie in)

--------------------Birgimana-------------------------
-------Thomas---------------------Ruffles-----------
----------------------Sheffers-------------------------

----------------Jeffers------O'Donovan---------------
