I wish, that Luke Thomas had never come to us. He's a great player, until he is in front of goal. We have lost so many points, because he pulls the ball back , when at an acute angle, and in a good position, instead of shooting, he pulls it back onto the other foot. Reminds me so much of Craig Bellamy the year we got relegated from premiership. He missed so many one on ones with the goalkeeper, more than I've ever seen. We were relegated because of that

We are 8th if he was finishing every chance he had he would be playing for Derby and not on loan with us.

Nobody finishes every chance. But 4 or 5 over the season with the amount of chances he's had is infuriating

Doubt he will play any higher than league 1. No right foot at all and you really wonder what has happened to when he was younger regarding his coaching. How can a player make it pro level yet only have one foot?

That said, I expect him back here next season to start with but he really needs to spend all the pre season working on that right foot as it’s holding the lads career back.

Hes such a threat and works unbelievably hard but his decision making is dreadful. I honestly think he must have missed about 20 guilt edge chances this season. As the season has gone on I fully expect him to miss when he goes through on goal.

Great work rate and scares the opposition with his pace and trickery.

No guarantees he'll make it to a better level but I'm sure he's aware of his weak areas and will work on them. Far too early to judge how good he'll be just yet.
I wish the lad all the best. Always puts a shift in

Isn’t this his first season in men’s football? Bags of potential, some skill and moreover a work rate that sets a standard. Plenty of time to develop and I’m sure he will play above league 1 standard. He could be on 20 goals for us with the chances missed this season but, Armstrong aside, I don’t think we’ve had a loanee in recent times that has got close to that.

I have no doubt that JJ would have scored twice as many if he’d played that position for us all season, but then you would lose LT’s tracking back and tackles in midfield.

Unlikely, but if we could get him next season I would take him again. However, he absolutely needs to work on his finishing and/or learn how to cross (if he is going to be a wide player).

We’d have play-offs nailed on if Enobakhare was here from August, I have no doubt. He’s dragged us up the table.

Unfair that Thomas feels he needs to apologise on Twitter, it’s disheartening to read. But he should be on 20+ goals now. I feel the same for Burge on crosses than I do for Thomas running at goal. Sometimes Hiwula can be just as bad with end product.

Player of the season as I’ve seen some say? Not a chance.

He should be on at least 15 for the season given the number of clear cut chances hes had this season.

He's had more shots than any other city player by a mile.

I agree it’s infuriating , however this is his first full season in professional football , with some guidance he could become an asset to any squad at this level
Also not sure why we haven’t tried him on the left to shoot across the keeper with his stronger foot ?

We'll have Jodi Jones on the wing next year, problem solved.

Only just turned 20 1st season in the football league, works incredibly hard but needs someone to learn from now to improve his decision making, makes me laugh how people say only 1 footed most players are but also agree he does need to try to develop his right foot to again enhance his game

His first season has been a success...yes he should have scored more and should work on his rt foot. But he is an exciting talent who will develop into a top quality winger.

Very frustrating this season- but clearly has huge potential. Maybe it could be a Raheem sterling situation where he works hard on the end product and suddenly is a top class player. Worth bearing with if we can get him back next season

He'll become a brilliant player. Just needs confidence.

Type of player who would score a ton after getting one.

Easy finish with your right foot even if he isn't that good with it.

The first chance was a simple pass into an empty goal.

I think my cat could have scored that and he doesn't even play football.

I'm sorry, but hammering it home with your right or having the time to put it on your left to curl it in, no League 1 player should be missing that.

He has had a hatful of chances to score goals this season and he hasn't tken them. We would be top 6 if half of them went in.

So fucking what?! He’s 19 not a kid anymore! He should have had work being coached when he was younger on working on his weaker foot. If your playing pro football you should be using be capable of using both feet.

Pisses me off when I hear he’s only a kid etc. It’s a mans game either your good enough or your not.

Ridiculous comments. People are put out on loan to learn, very few players are the finished article at 19.
If he had already sorted out the weaknesses in his game he wouldn't have been here in the first place and we'd have been a poorer side for it.

So why can’t he use his right foot? He didn’t come on loan to improve that did he? His overall game is good but cannot use his right foot and in my opinion will hold the boys career back.

If he could use his right foot he'd be a much better player and in all probability too good for us.

Absolutely agree with this.

If the team/formation that ended the season (with Bright as the key link) was together from the start of the season we'd have had a very good shot at the autos. Kelly at full fitness was also a big factor in our strong end to the season.

I was personally starting to write Hiwula off when he was isolated on the left but he certainly has something to offer in a front 3. Already looking forward to next season if we can build on the base we now have.

With the returns of Biamou, Jones, and a resurgent Chaplin + strong additions at GK, RB and RW we'll be very competitive.

Nobody is saying he is the finished article.

People including myself are frustrated that Thomas did not take the opputunity to shoot at an open goal, left foot or right foot.

He is a professional football. No one in League 1 should miss those opputubities whatever position they play.

I don't want to slate the lad personally but he has to do better a lot of the time.

He can't rely on pace for ever as when he loses that he will really struggle to have a career in the game.

People absolutely hammer Bakayoko but in about half the amount of time on the pitch he has scored more goals and has 1 less assist than Thomas.
