Just 3 articles picked up in the Coventry Telegraph, New Housing estate planned for Nuneaton.
If you read the articles there is a question box to pick your answer.
Percentage wise, Nuneaton residents say there is NO NEED for NEW Houses.

Mammoth housing estate with 850 homes set for green light
"It would be one of the biggest housing estate Nuneaton has seen in years"

Work on FIFTH housing development in north of Nuneaton to start in the New Year
"There will be another up to 360 homes built"

Plans for 600 new houses in Nuneaton

Exactly. I worked as a contractor on new housing developments for many a year for companies like Bloors, Wimpy, Westbury Homes and when they were taken over Persimmons too. Of those the only one with any interest in brown field sites was Bloors, maybe because they were smaller and still privately owned. The others had brown field sites but the only time I worked on one was with Wimpy and I think they only used them for young new site foremen to cut their teeth. Every site I worked on for Westbury or Persimmons was greenfield. In fact I was told by a site foreman at the time of the Persimmons takeover the only reason Persimmons wanted Westbury was because they had the largest land bank in the industry at the time.

For the record, of all the 'migration' to Europe in the last 5 years, this repetitive notion that they are all Syrian is also ridiculous.

Also, given that the population of Syria was 18 million, and given that most of them are still there, or as you say in Turkey... Where are the other millions in Europe actually from?

Saying I don't have a grasp on this is a low blow, equally trying to make out that Syria isn't currently a third world location is also mental.

They are building an extension to Hillmorton effectively, though they're pushing it as a new oversized village. It isn't a new town and it is totally unnecessary. Plenty of housing still going up in Cawston and north Rugby near the M6. There is also new housing in Long Lawford .
We are sucking in an extra 200 - 300,000 immigrants a year and so it is right to raise this as a factor in pressure on housing.

Not really. It’s the opposite side of the railway and canal, it’s not linked to hillmorton, it’s going all the way up to the A5, they’ve built a new primary school, an academy with more schools planned, shops, pub, over 6000 houses planned and a new link road to Rugby which ends by the junction with Butlers Leap and Clinton Road. RBC are also still not hitting the targets for housing set by the government so clearly it is needed.

It is if it's Houlton, once hailed as the new "town centre" of Rugby. Will be snapped up by opportunist landlords who will let them to those working near DIRFT and distribution centres on the A5.

I have a confession: I get a bit cheesed off every time I walk past a shop which is clearly for eastern Europeans simply because the signage above the doors is emblazoned in Polish/Hungarian etc. It makes me angry . It makes me think of segregation rather than integration.
On the other hand I work closely with Polish workers on site and my neighbours are a young Polish family whom we get on with extremely well. I find them respectful, hard working and family orientated.
I have a conflict here and can't reconcile the two emotions.

Before I turned vegetarian it made me think of sausages so I used to go in and buy them. Shocking thing is it wasn’t a scary experience and the sausages were great. I guess integration is a two way streak. There isn’t a sign on the door saying no British. The world is shrinking, you’re just going to have to grow up and deal with it.

£2.54 for a full days healthy eating, where you will be full all day. Plenty of money for things like eggs, milk, flour, chocolate, etc. Not bad considering you now have a roof over your head, no bills and you've never paid into the system.

That's just food, what about heat, light and water? Where do you keep your frozen food? How do you boil the water for your tea? Oh and how do you get to Sainsburys?

And I am sure people experienced the exact same thoughts and feelings when Indians starting moving here in the 50’s and 60’s.

Yet we now have no problem with going into Indian owned shops or nipping into restaurants for a vindaloo!

We have been starting wars. And when I say we I mean us, our allies and our Saudi overlords. We've been doing it since the 50s

we've put maniacs in power, sometimes replacing them with bigger maniacs and causing mayhem in the region.
Until we stop we will continue to create refugee situations.
And I would also suggest you look up the definition a a third world country and the role of Al nusra in Syria and where some of there funding came from.

But any system that helps people will have those that take the piss whether it's asylum, benefits right through to accident compensation
You don't end the scheme, you try and weed out the piss takers.

No not at all it’s to engage in discussion that’s the narrative. Granted, but I do think that when you have a Polski Delikatessee (excuse spelling) parked up next to a Spar, as is the case in an area of Rugby where I live, I do wonder whether it brings people together or actually creates a dividing line. Both shops serve the local community well and happily both seem to continue to survive economically, but of course you rarely see Eastern Europeans in the Spar ,which wasn't the case before the Polish shop opened, which I always felt was a good thing in many ways. Now they don't bother, unsurprisingly.

Some good stuff in polish shops we don't get, e.g. wild mushroom stock cubes. The ham and polish sausages are great as well.

Fuck me! You sound like such a victim. Do they need someone to tie their shoes for them as well? I've worked in these homes, and everything gets provided for them. What about heat, light and water? Heat is from central heating, light comes from the sky or a lamp and water comes from a tap, How do you boil the water? in a pan over a flame or use the provided kettle. How do you get to the supermarket? You have a full day to fill with nothing, walk there, get some excercise.

Polish food is amazing, Zywiecka is my sausage of choice, finely sliced with pierogi and sauerkraut.

You need to try Gołąbki, cabbage rolls filled with meat and rice. I can eat them all night when my mum makes them at Christmas.
