Think getting Stokes in will be a good forward thinking move for once, atleast he should be well bedded in by the time we drop into the conference in just over 12 months time.

Imagine the internet back then, I cant believe we signed Stuart Pearce, fucking non league electrician, suppose he could fix the lights even if he cant play.

Jesus Christ. Why do people bring up Pearce as an example? That was over 30 years ago!!! It's another example of how far we have dropped when were buying forest green rejects.

Palace signed a player from a level 8 club last month. According tot he warped logic on this board, he must be shit.

Difference being, he was probably a first teamer. Stokes can't even get into the forest green team! Chris hussey anybody?

Palace paid something like £30k for a player who was at the club for about a week. A great profit for a non league club.

That, against Forest Green happy to get Stokes off their books for nothing. There is a difference. One is happy to be let go by a conference club, as surely if they are giving him away they dont think he can have a positive impact on their team ?, the other was sold for profit

Im sure that was when half the first team squad had refused to renew their contracts, Gould had to rebuild the team, totally different but in the shit for players all the same. Today it would be a miracle and even bigger news but at the end of the day its a none league player gone to a bigger "big" club, no matter what the decade its still a valid comparison.

Yeah. It's a real shame watching his poor form, he was our best attacking outlet in that first 14-15 games.

Give Stokesy a chance , I have seen him play , he is good. Has played for England at 3 levels so he must have something about him.

"Chris Stokes staying with Coventry City despite Forest Green defensive injury"

So, their captain and LEFT BACK, gets injured, and they are happy to let their 2nd choice left back leave on loan...

another glowing comment !

There is more to this than you can see..it ain't forest green that does not want him only the new manager. He was always first choice before the new manager arrived , they had a falling out so Stokesy was left out. Give the lad a chance you might be supprised. Chech out what the FGR fans think of him on their forum....player of the year not long age ..playing for England C last year. He maybe the best signing made this year!!

That sounds like no fun. Let's all jump on the Bandwagon and crucify the Kid before he arrives. That should give him a real confidence boost as he tries to take a step up in his career.

Bandwagon ?

No-one is crucifying him, but why should we be content or happy at CCFC signing a unwanted Forest Green player ?. Its not like SP has an eye for a player is it

As it stands he isn't deemed good enough for Forest Green. Lets hope he can make the step up from that.
