We have to fill that space up from midfield and we will create so many more meaningful chances each game. It's a see-saw effect and we just need to get that balance right between both. Think we have some good defenders so we're not going to suddenly start shipping 3 goals a game.

As we saw yesterday, we had chances and fucked them up.

I do agree that we were over cautious against a side like that yesterday, however, if our strikers can't finish their dinner no matter how many chances they have, we need to be careful in dismantling the back. We ideally need a more consistent winger and we need to drop a couple of the strikers that aren't doing the business. I would even argue Jones has dropped off the last few games too. The whole thing needs a thoughtful shake up.

I raised this thread as a comment on the supporters, not the team. I just don't understand why a true supporter would stay away when things are not going well but go along when they're OK. That's not how you would behave towards an individual in need of support.

Mate, you would support an individual in need in the hope that they would get better.
But after 50 bloody years you would of thought the penny would of dropped.
If not you would cut them adrift. Which is exactly what a lot of fans have done.
Only the desperate, the sad, and the mentaly retarded would still be hanging on.
(I think i tick all 3 boxes)

We actually have such a striker but Robins refuses to play him, or gives him only a few minutes after we are already beaten.

In my 65 years of supporting the City, I can't remember a worse league result than last night. However, my reaction is not to whinge, whine and despair, but to get behind the team. Anyone who has played sport will know that there are times that things just don't go for you - that's when you most need support. So can we please stop all this negativity. If you're a Glory Hunter then I'm afraid you picked the wrong team. See you for the Colchester game.

Let someone be honest, that’s an Andreu sized hole in the middle, and we’ve got no one to fill it. All our AM seem to be better further wide or further up.

While I respect OP’s sentiment, the game is a business these days and that works both ways. You simply don’t grow crowds without success on the pitch.

I dunno what’s wrong, if it’s the manager, the players, the owners, the general unshakeable stench of failure that permeates the club, the Coventry way of being grumpy as fuck and shitting on everything, or the Leicester shirt under the Ricoh. But until whatever it is is fixed, asking for an increase in fans is howling into the wind.

I have to agree. The injury to Andreu really did throw a promotion charge off track before it began. A massive loss, one we hadn't planned for and one we've not been able to cope without.

I don't think it's as doom and gloom as everyone is making out but Robins needs to sort it out ASAP to stop this slide. Two more poor results and some will be calling for his head.

No problem. When you've been supporting the City for 65 years you get to be pretty thick-skinned.

Well, the confidence factor seems to wax and wane like a teenager's wanking habit...we seem to be inflexible, steadfast and structured in a manner to either pinch a 1-0 or lose a 1-0. We're not doing that badly, MR needs his thinking head on to address the tactical deficiency we seem to wear like an oversized birthday badge.

We could be doing far worse at this point, far, far worse.

Something has to/will click with this team, I believe it, and we'll be alright. The rigidity that MR has instilled tactically may be a positive factor should we start facking scoring...

I suspect Robins knows the problem better than us
Essentially we need an experienced skilful player to take over from Tony Andreu
Stuart Beavon has the skill set in my opinion to fill that role behind the Duke to bring our other forward players into the game in better positions
I like Biamou and think he'll come good but we tend to play the long ball up too often when he's in the team
This one change would make a big difference I fancy

Yep, definitely.

I'm merely echoing stated sentiments really, but yes, the AM role is essential and Beavon has the footballing intelligence to fill it.

I've always advocated MR and his ability as a manager, so like you say, the lack of goals and rigidity are probably forefront in his mind.

I do like the idea of Beavon in a deeper, more creative role. Here's hoping MR gives him a shot in such a role, since it will undoubtedly create fluidity and options going forward.

I don't get the Andreu love in. Just what exactly did he do to warrant being so badly missed or so highly regarded?
