Lampard has been excellent imo.
I didn't want MR to go, but I can't really fault what FL has done with the "deck" he inherited.

He's had to change the formation due to injuries to some of our best players, and he's changed the defence that was concerning 2 goals every game.

So far he's been a big plus, hopefully that will continue because to be honest he's kept our season alive.

Exactly

But losing weight sheaf and emc isn't a test to some

Sorting out defence frailties wasn't a test apparently

But Leeds...Leeds is the test!

Unless we win.

Early doors I said Lampard hadn’t moved the needle with the players. It’s clear now that he and his coaching team just needed some time. Really seeing some vast improvements in individuals and as a team.

The f’kin tastiest humble pie I’ve ever eaten

Regardless of what happens on the pitch going forward, Lampard has already done one very important thing.

We all know the anger that existed around Robins' sacking. That had the potential to completely split the fanbase, and also cause a massive rift between the fans, club, and players. Sacking a manager after nearly 8 years in charge has consequences.

Lampard has, IMO, brilliantly took the sting out of that sacking. So whatever happens in the future, whoever takes over from Lampard (whenever that may be), will not have the burden of constantly being compared to Mark Robins

Bizarrely Lampard has gone under the radar the turn around he’s managed from this squad.

You know, I like it and this momentum we have now is giving me vibes that we’re on the cusp of something special.

Are we in to the ‘Robins would have turned it round by now anyway’ phase yet?

2 weeks ago people on here were questioning how many season tickets we would sell next season, and would we even stay up - That is the turnaround

Would you rather be arguing over whether we'd be in the relegation zone if MR had stayed?

Honestly, if it ain't the fans arguing amongst themselves over how shit we are, it's the fans arguing over how good we are.

Give it up ffs and just enjoy the ride.

Are his books any good?

I think he was inspired to write them after his Mum died wasn't he?

All hindsight but if Lampard was here at the start of the season we would be up with Sunderland. He’s been a very smart appointment by Doug. He’s not even had a full squad since he joined.

I'll admit I wasn't into the appointment but I've seen lots I like since (tactically flexible, pretty ruthless with poor performances, tweaks to how we attack and press).

I can't argue with the results but I'd want to see one or two really convincing results and performances between now and Sunderland before I'll let myself get too hyped.

I think we'll make the playoffs, but get pumped as one of the worst teams in it of all time. We're grinding out results against all the mediocre teams, and then looking lost/scared/hopeless against the decent teams, which were Robins' biggest strength.

We need to have Lampard in charge against the dross and Robins to get us up for the big games, it seems!

Granted we've only really played Leeds, in the league, so far under Lampard. So hopefully, by the time we play Sunderland and Sheffield United we have found more of an identity to impose ourselves. Although I'm not super confident of this yet based on what I've heard of him tactically during his Derby spell, and when he was at Chelsea and finished 4th with the team who finished 3rd, but only won 1 game against the top 6. Seems like he gets the base level out of squads but no better/worse.

FL has no doubt learnt from past mistakes and has taken a lot from past experiences. You can see he is a very knowledgeable football man that has hired well. Dont be shocked if we see another coach comes in during the summer and see a lot of movement within the current squad.

FL is proving more than a few wrong, he is having positive results with player improvement and team results. His biggest attribute so far is player evaluation, player recognition and hiring the correct team around him. I hope we finish strong get a good pre season and for once start a season well. Recruitment is going to be key but i like all i have seen and heard so far.

Surely Frank is turning even the most die hard of Robins fans now. We are lucky to have him at this stage of the project. So many improvements coming to fruition

He’s finally unearthing the huge potential in the team.

Now we’ve had a good run, the expectation will now be to make the playoffs, especially now we don’t have to worry about the FA Cup as we did last season.

May well be cause he’s a smart and articulate bloke and he knows how to bluff people - who knows

But I could listen to Frank talk about football for hours, I think his analysis of the game is second to none, you could see that when he was a pundit at the Euros though to be fair

If anyone's expecting to finish in the top six, that's a problem. It would leave people seeing anything less as a failure, which would be dumb. Folks need to chill.
