Is Chris Eubank senior being a hindrance to his sons career
I've watched his last couple of fights and it seems as if the dad is trying to steal the spotlight from his son
I may be taking more nonsense then usual

How did Blackwell stay upright? Must've took 10 decent upper cuts. Tough fucker, he is.

Eubank Jr is flashy and exciting but he has no business at world level if he fights like that.

No chance on earth he wins a legitimate world title with Golovkin in the division, GGG would punch holes in Eubank.

Thoughts to Blackwell who apparently has a bleed on the brain and is in a coma.

It was a hell of a fight and Blackwell is as hard as nails. Hope he pulls thru.
With regards to Eubank Snr, did anybody notice the way he positioned himself in front of Richie Woodhall at ringside for the post fight interview? From the daggers Woodhall was giving him any decent promoter would have been on a roll for getting that one on.

first time in my life that ive disgusted by boxing

firstly that ref must have had a pay out from pikie hennessy sports, how else would he have let that go on, he got the 'out of jail' card and let a doctor stop it

nicks cornermen should never work in boxing again, at the end of round 8, he looked uninterested, he hadnt really thrown a decent punch since the 4th, yet his cornermen simply told him that his gameplan was exactly how theyd hoped it would go

wtf were they thinking

thirdly, saunders and the fury clan , whilst backing this lad with vigor and attitude, actually made this guy not want to quit, they need to all take a look in the mirror

if this guy pulls through, he's finished as a boxer, where will saunders and fury be then? they will be nowhere, i know boxers know the risks, but i feel this time, the control was taken away from him

gotta pray blackwell pulls through , his career is gone now, lets hope the boxing world does him some justice and gives him a job in the sport

to be fair to him, he was trying to get his son to go to the bodyand not the head as he knew the ref wasnt gonna stop it

I turned off from boxing 20 -30 yrs ago having seen this type of outcome occur.
That the ref and cornermen are blind to the extent of damage being done is a scary position.

Hindsight is wonderful. Whilst Blackwell was outclassed he was never viably hurt.

Agree with you on Fury and Saunders though, they were bought in as a tactic to distract Eubank and it failed miserably.

To be fair the tactic nearly worked Eubank was playing up to them and walked onto a shot but he recovered quickly

end of round 7 or 8 you could clearly hear Sr telling jr he couldn't understand why the ref hadn't stopped the fight.

Hindsight my eye. He was shipping 20 unanswered punches in a row and from the 4th his only real punch ( and it was dangerous ) the straight right , had almost disappeared.
He should have been withdrawn or stopped 2 rounds earlier, I was angry during the fight and not just this morning.
Any real boxing fan knows this was disgraceful refereeing and corner Work.

This poor lad couldn't back down and he needed Help from his ' trusted ' corner men and the ref

Eubank just put him in hospital.
Just because you have granite jaw doesn't mean you have granite brain.

He took far too many shots, that 8th round , in the corner , I have never seen a fighter take as many shots , ever , in my Life. It was brutality and it just wasn't right at all .

Suppose you're right. His corner should have pulled him out rather than the referee.

Not a fan of Eubank at all, think he gets beaten handidly at world level.

What a scrap though even though it was at times brutal. Yet it should have been stopped when Eubank's uppercuts were nearly taking Blackwell's head off.But when you've got such a brave heart and warrior instincts like Blackwell has,you just know he'll keep on going forward.
Eubank will get better I feel but maybe may be better off if his old man kept away, and took a back seat ?

Hell yes. World level will show him up badly . Domestic boxing is one thing but world stage is a stage too far. He's not his dad

He couldn't lay a glove on Saunders in the first six rounds of their first fight. Only when Saunders gassed late he had success. Anyone with movement gives him fits. He picked his last two opponents well, spike and Blackwell are come forward guys who stand in front. He landed every shot in the book on the pair of them and couldn't drop either, his power is overrated too. Maybe a good European level fighter, may pick up a fringe world title, but won't be the main man in his division.

The fight should have been stopped at least 2 rounds earlier, and I believe it should have been his corner who pulled him out. Boxing Ref's are under massive pressure to let the fight go on as long as possible, especially when the fighter losing is the title holder, however he did the right thing calling the doctor over and taking advice (even then he was abused for doing so).

My daughter trains in MMA and Boxing so we watch lots of fights together and we like Eubank Jnr, he gets a lot of stick because of his Dad but I would much rather have him in my corner than that tool Tyson Fury, the blokes an idiot.
