The City striker is also looking forward to ending the season with a positive result at Sheffield United...
Coventry City striker Callum Wilson has dismissed rumours and newspaper speculation that he is set to leave the Sky Blues in the summer.

The 21-year old has had an incredible break-through season with City, having scored 22 goals in all competitions this season and was named in the PFA League One Team of the Year this week.

The City Academy product has made 40 appearances this season despite suffering a dislocated shoulder during the 3-1 win over Rotherham United which kept him out for two months.

Wilson is in line to start against Sheffield United in the final game of the season on Saturday and whilst speaking at the pre-match press conference, he took the opportunity to dismiss any summer speculation.

The City striker said: "I'm a Coventry City player. I'm under contract here and I signed a new contract in November so I'm here for another two years.

"Obviously, it is all rumours and speculation so just let them carry on. As far as I'm concerned, I'll be here next season.

"I've got my off-season programme to stick to and my dates to come back for pre-season training as I'm coming back as normal.

"At the beginning of this season, I was expecting to make 20 appearances and score around ten goals but I blew that out of the water early doors. I still think there is more to come from me though."

City travel to Bramall Lane on the final day of the 2013/14 League One season having already guaranteed League One football next season with the 1-1 draw against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

With safety already guaranteed, Wilson is looking forward to playing with a freedom against the Blades as City look to end the season with a positive result.

He added: "We want to go there and win the game. We're not going to turn up there thinking it is the end of the season and a chance to take it easy.

"We're footballers and we want to go there to get a result. We want to be as high as we can in the table so it would be good if we can achieve that.

"We were rock-bottom at the start of the season and we have come a long way since then so we want a league position which reflects that."

Impossible.

I've read on here that he's definitely already been sold to Wolves and Notss Forest.

He's also had his own medical done just to save time in case anybody wants to buy him.

I actually believe it. As much as it is inevitable he will go at some point I genuinely believe we will keep him another season because he's a cov lad and I think he likes SP's methods. No progression on the pitch next season then its bye bye. I can't see Wilson coming out saying all this knowing he is going. The only way is if the club force a sale.

If you believe what's been said on here not only has he been sold he also knows nothing about it, doesn't have any say in choice of clubs and he might even move down a league or two. The only thing we for sure is that he will be earning more money, apparently.

The only hope we have of keeping him is 22 goals in his break through season, other clubs may wait to see what he does next season.

I do fear though that with the off field problems we may be seen as an easy target to by other clubs to get some good players at a cheap price

Lord SISU have been quite up front about this if they get the correct price for a player they will sell them.

Do you not think they will get what they percussive to be the correct price this summer?

Reassuring to hear this .

Suggests the manager Is going to be satisfied that a fairly significant injection of funds Is forthcoming to support the figure required to achieve the level of FFP he desires .

He did say he would be discussing this with SW this week and was promised funds In Novembers meeting with JS.

Still here in 2 years? I'm not convinced, I'm afraid.

I seriously doubt the club will still be here in 2 years.

As I think I said before I hope he doesn't become the next Hadji and get sold even though they want to stay.

Pretty much every club is a selling club. The sooner people realise this the better.

That Is true
So long as you're not selling as a consequence of losing yourself £3M turnover as a consequence of business decision
Which from both articles released by player and manager appears not to be the case
Meaning the owner Is doing what they said they would by plugging any shortfall.

Yeah, apart from clubs like Spurs. They hung onto Gareth Ba.....oh, hang on....

Maybe apart from clubs like Arsenal. They hung onto Cesc Fabr....oh, hang on....

Defo apart from clubs like Man Utd. They hung onto Cristino Rona....oh, hang on....

We're the same....we once sold Gary Borrowdale.
