Bit random but thought would share. I have always been pissed off that you can’t use airplay/screen mirroring to beam the game (or any of the highlights and interviews for that matter) to the TV from my iPad.

I’ve always had either just watch on the iPad or had to use laptop and HDMI. Maybe not a massive issue to people but always annoyed me and the only laptop I have is my work laptop so hate getting it out on the weekends.

Anyway, I found a pretty good solution which is a HDMI to USB-C adaptor by the “Uni” brand. Good brand actually bought quite a few of their products.

It’s only about £20 too so much cheaper than the official apple version. I got the adaptor that you can plug a HDMI cable into and also plug your USB-C charger into, so that your laptop can charge while it’s plugged into the TV.

USB C to HDMI Adapter, unI HDMI to USB-C Multiport Adapter, Type C HDMI 3 in 1 Hub, 4K, PD 100W, Compatible for iPad Pro 2020/2018, iPad Air 2020, MacBook Pro/Air, Galaxy S20/10 and More - Space Grey

Amazon product ASIN B081VBSNRZ

If your iPad had a lightening port instead of USB-C, it doesn’t look like Uni do a version but this looks like a similar adaptor. Has no reviews though but looks like the equivalent:

Amazon product ASIN B0919Y1HYH

I set this up today and it works well. Only slight annoyance is that there’s a black border around the picture on the TV. For that reason I’d say your picture will be better from the laptop but I don’t mind the border and it takes two seconds to set up instead of 5 minutes.

Thought I’d share!

To be clear you need a HDMI cable still. There’s also a cheaper version if you don’t care about charging your iPad at the same time.

I've got the official apple lightening to HDMI adapter and ifollow is blocked. Works fine for everything else but as soon as you start the video on ifollow it goes blank.

Saying that I haven't tried it for a couple of years so maybe they've fixed that, every time I tried speaking to support about it they denied there was an issue and just said it was my internet connection

haha. Either that or they have some kind of hard coded copyright protection in it. No idea. Be interested to see if it works now if you could give it a try at some point!

Fortunately our telly has a browser and I can get it direct - it retains the login

It’s far better using the browser on the tv. The only match I haven’t watched via the browser is against Bristol first match of the season.

Yep, that will work. You can also save your card details so for the next match you can just hit 'use existing card' which makes it easy to order on the tv.

A couple of times I have had to refresh the page but just wait until it logs me in again - but in general it’s been really good on our big telly

I had this issue with my LG. I went into the browser settings and turned on pop ups which had been disabled. Worked for me so worth looking into
