been granted rights to show to UK fans next season ow too! price has gone up though.. Sky guess they know people were getting round it anyway, so they may as well allow it & get a bit of money from it - hence the price increase

As usual the FA unable to do anything properly.

There's no law banning games being shown at 3pm. Just an optional UEFA regulation that allows any countries member association to forbid transmission (you could argue that technically streaming isn't transmission) of any games in their own country.

The only countries that have actually taken up the option to do this are England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and for some reason Montenegro.

Only reason it was done in the first place is that in the 60s when live games first started Burnley's chairman objected, he also banned MOTD from showing highlights. Haven't we moved on since then?

6 Games, 3 at home, 3 away. It's still 3 extra games I can watch this season so not too bad. It's a start at least until they could get rid of the ridiculous Saturday 3pm law

It's not just the Saturday 3pm games that aren't available, bank holidays too. Can't leave much in the way of availability

Fixtures taking place on Bank Holidays or Easter will be unavailable for streaming. Sky Sports will have the right to stream the same fixtures to subscribers across their interactive and digital services.

The thing is though, Sky don't broadcast them so what's the point?

They should let games be broadcast at 3pm on a Saturday at all levels as it would make no difference to a football fan who wants to go to a game and if we could broadcast ours it would allow disabled fans easier access to away games and people who don’t have he time to travel

I wouldn’t stop at home to watch Leicester play Burnley

That presumably is why Sky have let them have the rights back. It’s the FA stopping 3pm Saturday games being shown, not Sky.

Would be better for them if the rule was scrapped or at least relaxed. Would stop the stupidity of having the start of El Classico consisting of the commentators being shown watching the game while the pictures can’t be shown!
