My son asked me what was the 87 Cup final like ? I told him it was one of those days you just had to be there as it will stay with me forever. He is envious as he hasn't had a day like that and reckons he never will.I remember my dad going to Highfield Road when I too was a kid to see us play Manchester United in the Cup, and me being down as I wanted to see the City up against Law and Bobby Charlton etc,but he went on his own. Which leads on to the question :What match would you have liked to have seen but missed out for some reason ?

I was there that day on the pitch behind the goal as us kids were being crushed, and were let on the sidelines.Promotion was achieved at Millwall a week later I think, but not on that day v Wolves.

Either the Wolves game or the game against Man U when they were top of the league and we were bottom and they had Law and Charlton and Best and Kidd and we beat them 2-0. Around 1968?

My dad wouldn't let me go and took me to the pantomime or Gang Show at the Cov Theatre and they announced on stage that City were winning 2 nil and none of us believed it.

Unless you know him personally, how would you know Tony doesn't attend home games?

The 2:0 away win at Man U in the Carling Cup, didn't think we had a chance so wasn't really tempted to go. Sounded amazing on the radio.

FA Cup final 1987. I was just too young to even remember it, watching the game on DVD numerous times it just doesn't seem real.

To be fair there isnt many games of major significance that i have missed in recent times. Anything prior to 87 is not really in the memory. There are lots of games that stick out as milestones apart from the cup final:
Villa wins in FA cup and League
Staying up in 97 - great day but a very long 15 mins at the end!
Man Utd win the in cup & that night at HR
Last game at HR
Getting relegated at villa
First game of the season at Stockport

I suppose the only one i can really think of is the Charity Shield, i missed that..

Old Trafford in the 4th round in 87, the only game I missed in the cup run and the last game at Highfield road which for the life of me I can't remember why I missed it. Must have been something to do with having 2 young sons at the time

Pacquiao v Marquez 1

Champions league final when Barca beat Utd 3-1 at Wembley, footballing perfection.
